Stampin' Up!© Flowering Rain Boots & Sweet Conversations

WELCOME!  I'm so glad you are taking a look at my blog, today.  If you are receiving this as an email, click the title to hop over to the actual blog post for better viewing.

Today I want to share with you a card that would make a cute Valentine, or really, any occasion card for a special someone in your life.  It features a bouquet of hearts in rain boots.

I used the 2 stamp sets Flowering Rain Boots and Sweet Conversations, and their coordinating dies, Rain Boot Dies and Sweet Hearts Dies (respectively).   The stamp sets + coordinating dies are BUNDLED - you know what that means:  you'll save 10%.  Another die I used is the Stitched With Whimsy Dies - this created the rectangular border of stitching.  I put the die off-center to get the look you see on the card above.

I also used the Sweet Talk DSP for the background layer.  I chose one of the more neutral selections, the Petal Pink you see, but the pack of 12" x 12" DSP has all kinds of fun hearts in bright colors.

To see the entire Sweet Talk Suite Collection of stamps, dies, DSP, and embellishments go HERE.

The bow on the card is made with 1/8" wide cotton ribbon that comes in a combo pack with 2 spools:  Petal Pink and Misty Moonlight.  All the products, except the Stitched With Whimsy Dies, are in the current 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog.  You can view the PDF of the Catalog in the right-hand panel of this blog.  The Stitched With Whimsy Dies are in the Annual Catalog.  Click SUPPLIES to see all.

Card Details

  • Card base:  Basic White card stock (CS), 4 1/4" x 11", score & fold at 5 1/2".
  • Layer of Sweet Talk DSP, 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".
  • Using the Stitched With Whimsy dies, the 2nd largest rectangle, add stitching to the Sweet Talk DSP.  I angled the rectangle, but you could also position it squarely on the DSP.  Run through the Cut & Emboss Machine.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Sweet Conversations using Sahara Sand ink, stamping down in the bottom left-hand corner.
  • Pieces of Basic White CS:  use pieces large enough for the boots and for the stems.
    • Using Just Jade ink, stamp the stems onto a piece of white CS.  Die cut with the Rain Boots Dies.
    • Using Gray Granite Ink, stamp the rain boots onto piece of white CS.  Die cut using Rain Boots Dies.
  • Using the Sweet Hearts Dies:
    • Cut the conversation hearts from a selection of the Sweet Talk DSP.
    • Cut multiple tiny hearts from Highland Heather CS, So Saffron CS, Petal Pink CS, and Blushing Bride CS.

Assemble the card:

  • Glue the petal pink DSP layer to the card base.
  • Glue the die-cut rain boots to the card front.  Then glue the stems slightly overlapping the rain boots, so it looks like the stems are coming out of the boots.
  • Glue the largest conversation heart.  Then use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the next 2 conversation hearts.
  • Glue the various colored tiny hearts as fillers around the conversation hearts & onto the stems.
  • Tie a small bow using the  Petal Pink Cotton Ribbon.  Adhere with a mini glue dot.

For the inside, stamp a greeting from either of the stamp sets, depending on the occasion.  Here are a couple possibilities.  Sentiments are stamped in Sahara Sand onto a piece of white CS 3 3/4" x 5".  Add a strip of DSP, or stamp heart images.  You could also die-cut more conversation hearts from the DSP.

I hope you found some inspiration today.  If you need the supplies, you can shop through me online; here is the list of SUPPLIES.

Stampin' Up!© EVERY CHAPTER

Welcome to my blog today!

Every Chapter #158017

When I saw this stamp set, Every Chapter, in the new 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog, I immediately put it on my wish list!  I love books, I love pretty tea cups, I wear glasses! Ha! It's the perfect stamp set for me to create cards with.  For my card, I stamped the image, then I fussy-cut it, trimming off the bottom book from the stamped image.

You may notice that some of the "titles" on the books don't show up on my finished card.  To make the stamp even more versatile, I followed the idea of two other SU Demonstrators (Christine Versluis, Meg Loven) and carefully cut out two sections from the actual rubber stamp (YES! I said cut out!).   Can you see the words that are missing?  Now the stamp can be used for many occasions, such as graduation, retirement, wedding, or many other adventures.    (missing words:  "I", "OF OUR"; also "FRIENDSHIP" but that last book not used on my card).

The layer of DSP I used is called Abstract Beauty.

Abstract Beauty DSP - new size, 4" x 6"

The pretty floral layer of Designer Series Paper is also in the Mini Catalog:  Abstract Beauty.  All the selections in this DSP pack are SO beautiful!  There are gold foil accents on one side of each selection.  Order it separately (#158039) or get it in the Abstract Beauty Suite Collection (#158052). On pp.48-49 in the Mini Catalog.  Go ABSTRACT to see the Collection now.

If you haven't yet checked out the new Mini, just click the Catalog image in the top-right panel to download the PDF of the Catalog.  Then flip through the pages to see all the stamps, Dies, DSP and more.  Don't forget, the Bundles (stamps + dies, stamps + punch) save you 10%.

When you're ready, place your order HERE.

AND:  Earn FREE stamps & DSP!  Yes, FREE!!   When your purchase reaches $50 (before tax & shipping fees), you can choose something from the Sale-a-bration Brochure.  Or purchase $100, and choose some Level 2 free items.  Click the Sale-a-Bration image in the right-hand panel to download the brochure.  SALE-a-bration is going on now through the end of February.

The details to make today's card:

Card base:  Daffodil Yellow card stock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".

DSP layer:   Abstract Beauty DSP, 5 1/4" x 4".  Glue to the card base.

  • Stamp the Every Chapter image using Black Memento Ink onto Basic White CS.  Fussy cut the image, trimming off the bottom book as you do, leaving a stack of three books.  This fits better onto the other elements of this card.
  •   Color with Stampin' Blends (I used pinks, yellows and Just Jade - pulling the color choices from the DSP.
  • Using Sunflower Dies & Basic White CS:  Die cut the large white flower outline.  Glue the book image onto this.

Gold 3/8" Fine Art Ribbon (from the Annual Catalog):  cut some lengths of the ribbon and adhere to card front using glue dots or Stampin' Seal.  This Gold Ribbon coordinates beautifully with the gold accents in the DSP.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the image piece over the ribbon.

Add some embellishments (optional):  I used the Loose Flower Flourishes (#155808), found in the Annual Catalog.

INSIDE:

  • Basic White CS:  4 1/2" x 3 1/4".
  • Sentiment:  from the Special Moments stamp set (one of the FREE items in the SAB Brochure) - stamp it in Magenta Madness Ink.  This stamp set has sentiments for lots of occasions.  A great one to have.
  • Adhere a strip of the DSP (I used the piece I had trimmed off when I cut the layer for the card front.)
  • Adhere to inside of card.

There you have it!  What do you think?

To see the list of supplies click SUPPLIES.

JANUARY HOST CODE:   T2WSNHBQ.   Add this code at Check-out when your order is under $150 (before tax & shipping fees) to receive a special thank you gift.  Don't use the code if your purchase totals $150 or greater - instead you will choose SU Rewards from any current catalog.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my blog, today.  I hope you found some inspiration.  If you have questions let me know; I'm happy to help in any way that I can with your crafting projects.

Till the next time, take care....JULIE

Stampin' Up!© SWEET CONVERSATIONS

Just like the boxes of those Sweet Conversation candies, this card is full of multi-colored hearts.  The stamp set and coordinating dies are in the new 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog.  When ordered as a Bundle (stamp set + dies), you save 10%.  Bundle item #157624

Or get the Sweet Talk Collection Suite for all the coordinating products:  the DSP I used as well as the Gingham Embossing Folder (used as background), iridescent rhinestone embellishments, real red faux linen ribbon, and sweet little boxes (for treats).  One Item number to get it all:  Item #157629.  Click SWEET to see it in my online store.

The heart dies in the set will match up with, and cut out some of the conversation hearts in the Sweet Talk 12" x 12" DSP.  The little envelope is also a die-cut using the Sweet Hearts Dies.  I also used the Tasteful Labels Dies (in the Annual Catalog #152886) for the focal point.

Here are the details:

  • Card base:  Petal Pink CS 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layer of Petal Pink CS 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" which I embossed using the Gingham Embossing Folder.
  • Strip of the Sweet Talk DSP, 4 1/8" x 3/4".
  • Glue the DSP strip to the embossed panel of petal pink; then glue to card base.
  • Die cuts:
    • Tasteful Labels Dies: cut a label from Basic White CS.
    • Sweet Hearts Dies:
      • Cut the envelope from Highland Heather CS.  The die also scores lines which you fold along to create the small envelope.  I used a couple of Mini Glue Dots to close the 3 sides, leaving to top of the envelope open.
      • Cut some of the Conversation Hearts from the Sweet Talk DSP.
      • Die-cut the very little hearts from coordinating colors of CS (Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, So Saffron).
  • Focal piece (label + envelope):
    • Stamp (off center) the sentiment from Sweet Conversations Stamp Set using Highland Heather ink onto the white die-cut label, leaving room to add the envelope.
    • Glue the envelope to the other side of the label.
    • Use Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere this focal piece to the card front.
  • Add all the die-cut hearts, having them coming out of the envelope.  Use Mulit-purpose glue &/or Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside:

Stamp the sentiment with Highland Heather ink onto Basic White CS, 5" x 3 3/4".

Glue a strip of the DSP along the bottom edge.  Glue to inside of card.

There you have it!

Stampin' Up!© Island Vibes FREE

This month & next (Jan-Feb 2022) we are celebrating the New Year with SALE-a-bration!

It's the time when you get rewarded for shopping with me by getting to choose FREE Stampin' Up!© products.  When your purchase is $50 (before tax, shipping) choose from 4 stamp sets and 3 Designer Series Papers; when  your purchase is $100, choose a stamp set + DSP combo or a fabulous stamp set full of sentiments.   SHOP  my online store.   To see all the SAB choices, click the image in the right panel & download the PDF of the SAB Brochure.

The card that I'm sharing, today, uses the Island Vibes stamp set for the leaves and the pineapple images.  This is a stamp set that you can choose FREE when you make a $50 purchase.  This set has 3 cling stamps, and is a "Distinktive" style - meaning it has great details in the images, showing different shading & textures.  All you have to do is ink up & stamp!

The sentiment on the card is from the On The Horizon stamp set. The water colored background is a piece of New Horizons DSP from the New 2022 Mini Catalog.  I love the selections in this pack of 6" x 6" DSP.  Watch for more cards using this DSP.   The DSP & stamp set are available as part of a Suite Collection in the Mini Catalog called New Horizons.  The Suite has the stamp set, dies, DSP, a ribbon combo pack, and embellishments.   If you purchase the Suite ($78.25 USD), you can choose the FREE Island Vibes stamp set I'm using today.  See the Suite collection HERE.

Here are the details for today's card:  (there is a link at the end for all the supplies I used)

  • Card base:  Bumblebee CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4".
  • Layer of Misty Moonlight CS:  3 3/4" x 3 3/4".
  • DSP:  New Horizons DSP, cut 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".
    • Stamp images directly onto this DSP.  Stamp the leaves in Garden Green ink; stamp the flying birds in Smoky Slate.
    • Glue this piece to the panel of Misty Moonlight CS.
  • Basic White CS to stamp sentiment and the pineapple image.
    • Stamp the sentiment from On The Horizon stamp set using Garden Green ink onto a scrap of Basic White CS.  Cut one end as a flag/banner.
    • Use Bumblebee ink (or Stampin' Write marker) to color the pineapple; use Garden green ink (or marker) to ink up top of pineapple - stamp the entire image onto white CS.  Fussy cut the pineapple.
  • Glue the image piece onto card front, positioning approximately upper 2/3.  Glue the sentiment piece to card front near bottom 1/3.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the pineapple.

There you have it!  You can get various looks to this card depending on which selection of the DSP you choose to use as the background.  I hope you try it - create your own original card!

Stampin' Up!© 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog

The new 2022 January-June Mini Catalog is now available.  Have you seen it?  Click the Catalog image in the right panel to download and view it.  Do you have any favorites from the products seen there?  Click SHOP to go to my online store.

One of my favorites in the Mini is the New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  You can see it on p.43 in the Catalog.  It can be purchased alone (item #157768) or get it with the entire New Horizons Suite Collection (item #157782).  Create some beautiful cards using the DSP as your background.  These papers are water colored pages - you decide what you see in them, whether landscapes, lakes, seascapes, sunsets in the sky...or something else.

I have a card to share with you using the New Horizons DSP as the background to set the scene. The truck is so full of love, that hearts are flowing out the back!

The stamp set I used on the card is also from the Mini Catalog; it's called Best Delivery (item #158026) and can be viewed on p.53.  It's a photopolymer stamp set.  You'll want to use the clear block E for the (large) truck image.

Here are the details for the card:  (there is a link at the bottom for all the supplies I used)

  • Card base:  Flirty Flamingo card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4".
  • DSP:  Choose a piece of the New Horizons DSP, cut it 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". Glue to card base.
  • Stamp the truck using Basic Gray ink onto white CS.  Fussy cut the truck.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Versamark ink onto Flirty Flamingo CS & heat emboss with Silver Embossing Powder.  (The silver is one of three powders in the Metallics collection, found in the Annual Catalog, p.128. Item #155555.)  Cut the top part of the sentiment off and cut flags/banner ends.
  • Stamp the sentiment again using Smoky Slate ink onto white CS;  stamp the small heart using Flirty Flamingo ink;  die-cut using Layering Circle Dies.
  • Glue the banner on top of the circle (I used Multi-purpose Liquid Glue).
  • To stamp the "flowing hearts" image, use Flirty Flamingo ink.  First, estimate where the truck will be positioned on the card front.  Don't adhere the truck yet, just note where you will be placing it.  Then stamp the hearts image where it will be coming out of the back of the truck.  I stamped it twice so there would be lots of flowing hearts.
  • Now, use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece onto the truck panel.  Use more Dimensionals to adhere the truck to the card front.

You've done it!  You have a card to send that special someone!  Wouldn't this be a cute Valentine card?

Want the supplies for this card?  Go HERE.  Choose all to be added to your cart, or select just items you need.

It's that time of year!!  Yes, SALE-a-bration!

With your purchase of  $50 or $100 (before tax, shipping costs), you also get to choose FREE item(s) from the 2022 Jan-Feb SALE-A-Bration Brochure.  Choose from DSP &/or stamp sets.

What's available?  Just click the Sale-a-Bration Brochure image in the upper right-hand panel of this blog post, and you can download the PDF to browse the available products.

That's all for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by the blog.   Let me know if you have any questions.  If you're looking for a Demonstrator (USA), I'd love to be yours.  Click on Contact Me at the top of the blog.   Also contact me if you'd like a Mini Catalog &/or SAB Brochure; send me your address & I'll put them in the mail.
