Stampin' Up! © Friendly Flamingo Times Two

This fun flamingo is soon flying away!

We are nearing the end of June 2021 and that means the end of the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog.  There's still time to order from the Last Chance list of Mini Catalog Items.  To see what these products are, visit my online store by clicking HERE.

The Flamingo Dies are discounted 50%!  If you love this product, get it soon, while supplies last. Although the Friendly Flamingo stamp set is NOT discounted, you'll want to get it too.  NOTE: purchase the dies & stamp set with their separate Item Numbers, NOT the Bundle item.  Since the dies are 50% off, this is a better way to get them.

#154313  Flamingo Dies $12.50

#154386  Friendly Flamingo stamp set  $17.00

I used both the Dies and the Stamp Set to create two cards for you to see.  Take a look!

Card #1

Card base:  Flirty Flamingo card stock, 11" x 4 1/4", score & fold at 5 1/2".  Using Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad and the small flower stamp from the stamp set, stamp off once on scrap paper, then stamp all over the card stock.  This is very subtle, but I wanted to add something to the card background that didn't distract from the flamingo.

Using Scalloped Contours Dies (Annual Catalog), cut a piece of Basic White CS; glue to card front.

Stamp the foliage image two times using Granny Apply Green onto white CS; die cut; color in the flowers with Stampin' Blends (Pineapple Punch or other yellow & Petal Pink).  Glue these cutouts across the diagonal corners of the scalloped piece.

Stamp the large flamingo using Flirty Flamingo ink onto white CS; die cut; adhere to scalloped piece using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment with black Memento ink onto Blushing Bride CS; trim this piece to a narrow banner & adhere to card, overlapping the large flamingo.

Add a Pastel Pearl Embellishment (in the Mini, but carried over to the Annual Catalog, too).

Card #2

On this card I used another Last Chance Product from the Mini Catalog:  The Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.  Item #154288

Card base:  Flirty Flamingo CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".

Sand & Sea DSP:  5 1/4" x 4".  I used the ombre-like selection from the pack of DSP.  I cut the piece so that I had the blue - as water - and the pink - as the sky/sunset.  I used the yellow when I stamped the sentiment & punched a circle - to represent the sun.

Using Balmy Blue ink, stamp the water ripple image and the small grasses image onto the DSP.

Glue the DSP to a layer of Basic Black CS cut 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".   Wait before adhering it to the Flirty Flamingo CS card base.  You'll wrap some trim around it first -

From Blushing Bride CS, die cut the 3 smaller flamingos.  Glue them to the card front.

Stamp the large flamingo using Flirty Flamingo ink onto Blushing Bride CS; die cut out; adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment in black into onto the Sand & Sun DSP in the yellow area; punch with a circle punch; glue it to the card front.

Some embellishing:

  • Wrap some gold trim (Simply Elegant Trim - Annual Catalog) around the bottom of the card front - I wrapped it 3 times, staggering & criss-crossing the trim.  I adhered the trim on the backside using some dimensionals.  You could also glue or use other adhesive.
  • Add some Elegant Faceted Gems - I placed 2 in the "water" and one on the sentiment.

Now, add more Dimensionals to the back of the black panel, and adhere to the card base.

I hope you are inspired by these cards - just a couple of ways to use the Friendly Flamingo Stamps & Dies.  Do you have a favorite?

If you have any questions, I would be happy to help in any way I can.  If you are looking for a Demonstrator, let me know that too.  I'd love to be yours!
