Stampin' Up!© Pansy Petals

A happy hello to you!  Thanks for stopping by my blog, today.

This card style is called a Split Front card, and was inspired by Meg Loven.  It's a layout I'm sure you'll use again and again.

For this card, I used many items from the Pansy Petals Suite of products which you can find in the current Annual Catalog.  The large pansy & leaves on the front were die-cut from Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper - no stamping needed.  I did stamp the sentiment.  It's from the Biggest Wish stamp set. The "HELLO" is in Evening Evergreen ink and the "happy" in Soft Succulent ink.  This piece was cut out using Layering Ovals Dies (discontinued), but you could use Painted Labels Dies (see 2nd card at end of blog), or any label die you have.

Here is the Painted Labels Die version, with slightly different sentiment, also:

The paper measurements and details are as follows.

Card Base:  Bumblebee card stock, 7 1/4" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".

Designer Series Paper:  First cut a piece 4" x 5 1/4".  Then cut it so you have the larger piece 2 3/4" wide (i.e. 2 3/4" x 5 1/4").  The smaller piece will be 1 1/4" x 5 1/4".

Adhere the DSP to the large front panel, and the edge of what will be the inside panel.

Using the Pansy Dies and the Pansy Petals DSP, die-cut the larges pansy and 3 leaves.  Very nice that the dies fit the images on the DSP!    Cut a strip of contrasting DSP 1" x 4 3/8", then cut a "V" off one end.

Stamp the sentiment from Biggest Wish stamp set onto Basic White CS - the "hello" in Soft Succulent ink, the "happy", or "friend", in Evening Evergreen ink.

Die cut the sentiment piece using oval or any label shape that fits.  Cut it out in a way that has the words off center to the right of the oval shape.  This will leave space on the left to overlap the large pansy.

Assemble:

  • Glue the strip of DSP to the right, larger front panel.  Be sure NOT to glue it all the way across - that would seal the card closed.
  • Glue the sentiment piece on top of the strip of DSP.
  • Add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the large pansy & leaves; adhere to the card front, overlapping the sentiment piece.

Back side of the large pansy & leaves with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • Use a glue dot to add the Bumblebee Trinket.

Inside of card:

Cut a piece of Basic White CS, 4" x 2 3/4"; glue inside the card.  Glue the smaller die-cut pansy in the corner.

Here is the other version, using the Painted Labels Die and "Hello friend" as the sentiment.

I hope you will try using the Split-Front card format.  Such a great way to show off the beautiful Designer Series Papers!

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you found some inspiration, today.

Till the next post - take care & happy crafting!!     ~JULIE ❤
