In keeping with the Mother's Day theme, as on my previous post, I have created another floral Mother's Day card to share with you today. My mother had a garden of many, many roses that we used to clip and bring into the house to enjoy. Their beauty, their scent...just a cheerful presence throughout the house. This card reminds me of those bouquets. And of her.
The stamp sets for this card are Jar Of Flowers and Wrapped Bouquet (for the sentiment). Card base is Poppy Parade. The DSP layer is Pattern Party (available starting May 4).
On a panel of Basic White card stock, I stamped the jar in Smoky Slate, the stems in Old Olive, and the roses in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiment is also stamped in the Memento black.
I colored in the roses using Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Combo pack. The leaves and stems are colored with Old Olive Blends, with a little Mango Melon on the lighter areas of the leaves. The filler stems are colored in Smoky Slate Blends (to me they look like eucalyptus).
The panel is cut using a Stitched Rectangles die. This is the only die-cutting on this card, and, really, you could just cut the panel without a die, 3" x 4 1/4".
Embellishments are Matte Black Dots, and I also added a small bow out of Olive thread.
The stamped panel is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to the card front, which is a piece of Pattern Party DSP (4 1/8" x 5 3/8") - a new package of DSP available May 4 - glued to a card base of Poppy Parade card stock (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded at 4 1/4").
If you enjoy coloring flowers, I hope you are inspired to make this card. You could also, of course, change the color of the roses and card base to match.
