Want to see one of the retiring stamp sets?
Today's card is an easy one to create, with maximum impact, and minimal products needed. The image and the sentiment are from one stamp set: Four Season Floral. This is one of the retiring stamp sets. I also used Stitched rectangle dies, square vellum doily, and gold hoop embellishment. The card stock is Bumblebee and Basic White, inks are Bumblebee and Memento Tuxedo Black.
Card stock measurements:
- Card base: Bumblebee CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
- White CS layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".
- Another piece of Bumblebee CS: 4" x 5 1/4"
- White CS piece to stamp image & sentiment, then die-cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies (or just cut a piece approx.3 1/8" x 1 3/4", if you don't have the dies).
Steps to create:
- Start by stamping the rose image from Four Season Floral stamp set, using Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee CS layer (4" x 5 1/4" piece). Just randomly stamp the image all over the CS.
- Using your favorite adhesive (I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue), adhere the stamped Bumblebee to the Basic White layer (4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece). Then adhere to the card base.
- On a piece of white CS, with Memento ink, stamp the rose image and the sentiment. Color the rose using your favorite color media - I used Stampin' Blends in Mango Melody and Old Olive for the leaves. You could also use Watercolor Pencils. Die cut using one of the rectangle dies.
- Using just a little liquid glue, glue the Square Vellum to the card front, placing small dots of glue where they will be hidden by the Gold Hoop and the sentiment piece. (Not too much glue, as it will show through the vellum.)
- Next, I positioned the sentiment piece over one of the Gold Hoops and holding them in place, turned them over & put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment, catching the hoop under the dimensionals, thereby simultaneously holding the hoop to the back and then adhering both on top of the vellum. The picture below shows what I'm talking about.
- Remove the Dimensionals' backing, and adhere the sentiment+hoop to the card front.
