Stampin' Up!© Waves of the Ocean, Seas the Day

The new Waves of the Ocean collection is now available!  The Designer Series Papers are beautiful, and inspired me to use a selection on this card.

The products I used are:   (see also HERE)

  • Stamp Sets:  Waves of Inspiration (Pelican image), Ocean Front (grass images), Seas the Day (sentiment on front), Let's Set Sail (inside sentiment).
  • Soft Suede Ink Pad
  • Dies:  Waves Dies (pelican), Tasteful Labels Dies (banner).

  • Embellishments:  Paper Lattice, In Color enamel dots.

Card Details

  • Waves of the Ocean DSP:  I wanted the look of ocean and sea shore (sand).  I choose a selection that had those colors, and cut it down to 3" x 4".
  • Layer of Early Espresso CS:  cut 3 1/8" x 4 1/8".   Glue the Waves of Ocean DSP to this layer.
  • Card base:  Soft Suede CS:   8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4".
  • Paper Lattice:  glue one of the lattice pieces to the card base, positioning toward the left edge; I used Multipurpose Glue, added just to where the lattice piece would be covered by the DSP layer.
  • Stamp the sentiment in soft suede ink onto a scrap of Basic White CS; die cut with Tasteful Labels Dies.
  • Stamp the Pelican image in soft suede ink onto a piece of Basic White CS; die cut with Waves Dies; color beak and feet with Stampin' Blends (light pumpkin pie), if you want.

  • Stamp some of the grass and "dots" images in soft suede onto the DSP at the bottom edge (on the "shore")

  • Adhere (with Multipurpose glue) the DSP panel to the card front, on top of the lattice, positioned slightly toward the right edge of the card front.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment and the Pelican Image.
  • Add enamel dots.

  • INSIDE:

    • Basic White CS, 3 3/4" x 5".
    • Stamp sentiment from Let's Set Sail stamp set in soft suede.
    • Adhere a strip of the Waves of the Ocean DSP to the bottom edge, 3 3/4" x 3/4".
    • Glue to inside of card.
I also like to decorate the envelope, to coordinate with the card.  I stamped the Pelican on the back of the envelope, in soft suede ink, and added the bird image stamped twice, once full-strength of ink, one stamped off, to give a lighter image (off in the distance).

There you have it.  I think this would be a great masculine card, don't you?

I hope you are inspired to use some of these products.  The DSP would also be gorgeous on a scrap-book page.
