Stampin' Up!© Free Sale-a-Bration Dahlias stamps, Peaceful Prints DSP

Hi!  Sale-a-Bration is that time of year when you can earn FREE products when you make a qualifying purchase of $50 or $100.   SAB is going on now through September 30.

Click the image in the right-hand panel of this blog to download the PDF of the Brochure.  Or you can click HERE to link to my online store.

Peaceful Prints 12" x 12" DSP - 156628 - FREE with a $50 purchase.

Delicate Dahlias Photopolymer Stamp Set - 056601 - FREE with a $100 purchase.

I want to share cards I made using SAB products.   The Delicate Dahlias stamp set and the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Papers are 2 such FREE products.   Putting them together, you can create some very pretty cards.

Here are the supplies for this card:  (also see the link at the end of the blog)

  • Card base:  So Saffron card stock (CS), 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".
  • Basic White CS, 5" x 3 3/4".
  • DSP - the plaid selection (Sahara Sand) from Peaceful Prints DSP:  5" x 1 1/2".
  • Piece of white CS to stamp the large Dahlia.
  • Stamp Set:  Delicate Dahlias
  • Dies:  Seasonal Labels Dies
  • Ink Pads:  So Saffron, Sahara Sand
  • Other:  Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon (approximately 6"-7", enough to wrap around the card front), Bumblebee trinket, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

How to create this card:

  • Randomly stamp the smaller lined flower image, and the small lined leaf image, in Sahara Sand ink on to the 5" x 3 3/4" white CS.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Sarah Sand ink on to a piece of white CS and die cut using Seasonal Labels Dies.

  • Stamp the large flower, first the lined image in Sahara Sand ink, then the filler image in So Saffron ink on to a piece of white CS.  Fussy cut the flower.

  • Glue the DSP strip to the bottom of the stamped background piece.  Glue a length of ribbon along the seam of DSP, wrapping around and adhering it to the back.

  • Glue the sentiment on to the plaid DSP.
  • Adhere the Dahlia using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Use a glue dot to adhere the bumblebee trinket.  You may use other embellishment, if you do not have the bumblebee, such as jewels, sequins, etc.
  • Adhere/glue the entire front to the So Saffron CS card base.

Inside:  glue a strip of the DSP (4 1/2" x 5/8") to a piece of white CS (4 1/2" x 3 1/4").  Stamp a small flower & some small leaves using Sahara Sand.

There you have it!

Another version of the card - similar to the first, but on this one I didn't use a Saffron card base, but rather just a white card base measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded at 4 1/4".  The image-stamped piece is also on a piece of white CS measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  The plaid DSP is 5" x 1 1/2" on this one.   The sentiment is stamped in So Saffron.

Here you can see & compare the two versions.

One more - using the same Dahlia set, and a different paper selection but from the same DSP package, and a few other products - because I just cannot stop using this stamp set and great paper selections!!  Are you with me?

I used another selection from the Peaceful Prints DSP & created a Christmas card.  I also used, in addition to the Delicate Dahlias stamps, the Classic Cloche stamp set (for the sentiment), the Seasonal Dies to cut the sentiment, red trim from Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack, and Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Flowers, large & small, are 2-step stamped:  Cherry Cobbler ink for the lined images, and Real Red ink for the filler images.  Flowers are, again, fussy cut.

Here are the papers dimensions:

  • Card base, white CS:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Sahara Sand CS layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Two pieces of DSP (these will be glued to the Sahara Sand layer) - I used the candy-striped selection, and its flip-side - which looks like birch trees:
    • Candy-striped piece is 5 1/8" x 1 3/4".  The birch piece is 5 1/8" x 3".  Glue these two pieces to the Sahara Sand layer, leaving a 1/8" Sahara Sand border showing:   first position the birch tree piece, then glue the candy-striped piece, overlapping the birch one in a way to have a consistent 1/8" border of Sahara Sand showing.

Inside:  white CS 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".  Strip of DSP 4 1/2" x 3/4".  Sentiment in Real Red ink from the Classic Cloche stamp set.

Ok, done!!  Whew!!  That was fun!  As you can see, the color + paper combinations are limited only by your creative imagination.
