Stampin' Up!© Hey Chick Bundle

Hello, welcome to my blog post, today.

First, to let you know: The Hey Chick and the Hey Birthday Chick Bundles (stamps+dies) are not going to be available after June 30.  These are fun stamps to use in your paper crafting, so if you want them, don't wait too long.   The Hey Birthday Chick stamps will be available in the Annual Catalog, as well as the coordinating set of dies.  But unfortunately they have been "un-bundled" in the Annual Catalog, which means you have to purchase them separately.  But get them by June 30 in the Bundle & save 10%.   But the Hey Chick stamps and dies are both retiring after June 30.

Let me know if you have any questions about all that.

Next:  Be sure to order any items on your 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalog Wish List before they are gone after June 30.   Visit LAST CHANCE to shop.

Coming soon:  July 1 will bring a sale of selected Designer Series Papers, discounted at 15%.  Check back on that date for which selections are included (no, sorry, I, myself, don't know that info yet- we'll have to wait just a bit longer!).

Finally:  Coming August 3 - a 2nd Sale-a-Bration catalog and the Holiday Mini Catalog!  Stay tuned for more info as we get closer.

Now, on to my card for today.

Today I'm featuring the Hey Chick stamps & the Chick Dies - I love the chicken-wire die, which I used on this card.  But the dies have so many other components:  corn stalks, litlle ears of corn, chicken coop & of course the dies to cut the large chicken and other images in the stamp set, plus more - all together 19 dies!.   See them all HERE.

Materials:

  • Card base:  Poppy Parade card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layer of Bumblebee CS, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
  • Layer of DSP:  5 1/4" x 4"   (I used Berry Delightful DSP, which was a Sale-a-bration item earlier this year; any small patterned DSP in complementary colors would work.)
  • Basic White CS piece, 3" x 4", for the image.
  • Bumblebee CS piece to die-cut the chicken wire. (enough to cut 2 of these)
  • Piece of white CS to stamp the chicken & the sentiment, then die cut.
  • Dies:  Chicken Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies
  • Embellishments:  Matte Black Dots and Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon

Start by getting all the pieces ready, before doing the assembly.

Stamp & Die cutting:

  • Using Memento Black ink, stamp the chicken and the sentiment onto white CS.
  • Use Chick Dies to cut the chicken.
  • Use Tasteful Label Dies to cut the sentiment.
  • Use the chicken wire die and Bumblebee CS and die cut 2 pieces of chicken wire.  If you have adhesive sheets, first adhere some to the Bumblebee CS, then run it through the die-cutting machine.  If you don't have the adhesive sheets, see below how I glued these pieces to the white panel.

Next steps:

  1. Color in the chicken using Stampin' Blends (light Mango Melody, dark Poppy Parade, dark Pumpkin Pie).
  2. Cut a length of the gingham ribbon approximately 7-8".

Assembly:

  • Glue the piece of DSP to the layer of Bumblebee card stock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Wrap the ribbon around the middle of these layers (the DSP & Bumblebee CS), and secure to the back using Mini Glue Dots.  I find the glue dots are strong and really secure the ribbon in place.
  • Now glue this to the Poppy Parade card base.
  • Image piece
    • Glue the chicken wire pieces, staggered, onto the front of the 3" x 4" piece of white CS - the way I did this was by using a piece of sponge & liquid glue.  This is where the Silicone Mat is very handy to have, since the glue will not stick to it.  Place the chicken wire pieces face down on the Silicon Mat; dab the sponge into some liquid glue; gently pounce the sponge with glue over the back of the die-cut; adhere to the white panel.  Repeat with the 2nd die-cut piece.
    • Using Stampin' Dimensionals, add the sentiment & the chicken ontop of the chicken wire pieces.
    • Adhere this decorated panel to the card front, using liquid glue (as I did) or dimensionals, if you prefer.
    • Add the Black Mat Dots to the bottom corner.

All finished!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the fun chicken card today.  Maybe even got some inspiration?    If you have any questions, let me know.  I appreciate you taking a look, and hope you'll came back again soon.
