Stampin' Up!© Jar of Flowers and Wrapped Bouquet

 Hello, again!

I was thinking, who couldn't use a pretty bouquet of spring flowers about now?  Here in the US the country is blanketed in snow & ice in many parts of the country.  I'm fortunate to live where that hasn't happened, where we have had only recent rains, and with that, some spring blossoms are beginning to emerge.  I want to send some virtual flowers your way.  So I'm sharing this vibrant jar of flowers with you, today.

I again used one of my current favorite stamp sets:  Wrapped Bouquet.  It's in the 2021 Jan-June Mini Catalog, and comes in a Bundle (stamps + dies),  Item 156217, which you can purchase in my online store.  To shop my store, click SHOP.

The other stamp set I used is also a favorite of mine (I guess I have lots of favorites! what about your?), called Jar Of Flowers.  It's in the Annual Catalog, and has a coordinating punch for the jar image.  This is Bundled using item 154064.  (Reminder:  a Bundle saves you $10%.)

The layer of Designer Series Paper is Flowers for Every Season.  You'll find it as part of a Suite of Products in the Annual Catalog, p.10.   If you choose to get all of the Suite, the Jar Of Flowers Bundle is part of it, too.

Materials:

  • Card Base:  Just Jade card stock (item #153079), 11"x 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2".
  • DSP layer:  Flowers For Every Season (152486), 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Basic White card stock layer:  4 1/2" x 2 1/2". (159276)
  • Other card stock:
    • Basic White piece to stamp the jar image, another white piece to stamp the bouquet image.
    • Just Jade piece to die cut the filler leaves.
    • Piece of Vellum (101856):  Use Jar Punch to punch out a jar to overlay the stamped jar image.
    • Inks/Blends:  Just Jade Classic Stampin' Pad (153115);  Stampin' Blends, Rococo Rose (154900), Flirty Flamingo (154884), Mango Melody (154888).
    • Embellishments:  2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (152480).
The image of stems is stamped inside the jar image, then punched out.  A piece of Vellum is just punched out.  Die-cut extra leaves to fill out the bouquet.

Steps to create the card:

  • Glue the DSP layer to the Just Jade card base.  Glue the 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Basic White on top of the DSP.  Set aside.
  • Using Just Jade ink, stamp the images of the mason jar and the flower stems inside the jar, onto white card stock; then punch out the jar image.
  • Punch another jar out of the Vellum card stock. (no stamping, just punch a jar).  Using just a little liquid glue, glue the vellum jar on top of the stamped jar, placing small dots of glue where they will be hidden by the linen thread (at the jar's neck), and/or under where the sentiment piece will cover.
  • Wrap some linen thread around the neck of the jar, tie a knot or bow.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto another small piece of white CS; cut a flag on one end. This will be glued to the front of the jar later.
  • Using jade ink, on another piece of white CS, stamp the bouquet image from Wrapped Bouquet stamp set; die cut it out using Wrapped Flowers Dies.  Color in the flowers with Stampin' Blends.
  • Die cut some filler leaves using Jade CS and the Wrapped Flowers Dies.

Assemble:

  • I assembled the bouquet and jar and filler leaves all together as one piece, before putting it all onto the card front.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere all the parts to each other first.  Then, when I was all done with that, then I removed the backings of the dimensionals and adhere it all down onto the card front.
    • Alternatively, you could first glue the bouquet and leaves and jar together, then place some dimensionals onto the back & adhere to the card front.
  • Adhere the sentiment piece:  I used glue on the end that overlaps the jar, and one dimensional on the flag end where it is in contact with the white panel.
  • Add Embellishments:  use the In Color enamel dots - Cinnamon Cider dots for the flower centers, and one Bumblebee dot on the sentiment piece.
Inside:
I adhered a strip of the DSP 3/4" x 3 3/4" to the bottom of a piece of white CS 3 3/4" x 5".

That's the card!  What do you think?
