Stampin' Up!© Hey Birthday Chick

Happy February!  You know that means we'll be seeing hearts, and more hearts!

What's more, as of Feb.2, the stamp+dies Bundles, Hey Birthday Chick (Item 158631) and Hey Chick (158627), are available for purchase.

When shopping with me this month, use February Host Code THSBTJVH.  At checkout, use the code when you purchase totals less than $150 (before tax, shipping), and I will send you a thank you gift.  If your purchase is $150 and greater, don't use the code; instead you will choose your own rewards from any current Catalog.

REMEMBER:  Sale-A-Bration is still happening, through 2/28/21, so you will earn FREE items with a purchase of either $50, or $100 (before tax, shipping).

Today, I want to share another card using the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle.  The images are so cute!  I hope you'll agree.  And I'll throw in lots of hearts, as our thoughts turn towards Valentines.

Let's get started!

Here's a closer look:

You'll see on this card I used the cute dancing chicken from the Hey Birthday Chicks stamp set; at least I think she's dancing, or maybe just jumping for joy.  After stamping her, she's die-cut with the coordinating Birthday Chick Dies.  The striking black-and-white floral background designer series paper is from the 2021 JJ Mini Catalog and comes in the True Love Designer Series Paper 12" x 12"pack (item 154281).  The hearts, large & small, and vine of hearts are dies from Many Hearts Dies (154308); the sentiment is from the set Lots of Heart (154348) - get both the stamps + the dies as a Bundle, and save 10% -  Lots of Heart Bundle (stamp set + dies) - Bundle Item 156202.

Measurements & details for making this card:

  • Card base:  Rococo Rose card stock, 11" x 4 1/4", fold in half (at 5 1/2").
  • Layer of DSP:  True Love DSP, 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
  • White card stock:  approximately 3/4" x 3 1/4" strip to stamp sentiment and a piece to stamp the chicken image.
  • Large Hearts:  Rococo Rose and Blushing Bride card stock; die-cut with Many Hearts Dies
  • Small hearts & vine of hearts:  Black card stock, die-cut with Many Hearts Dies.
  • Stamp sets:  Hey Birthday Chick (chicken image) and Lots of Hearts (for the sentiment).
  • Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black and Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (Smoky Slate, Rococo).
Want these supplies?  Click HERE to add all to your cart. (Or de-select those you don't need.)

Steps to make the card:

  • Die cut out the hearts (large & small) from Rococo Rose & Blushing Bride card stock;  die cut the heart-vine from Basic Black CS.
  • Stamp the chicken in black ink onto white card stock; die cut; color with Stampin' Blends (smoky slate, rococo rose).
  • Stamp the sentiment with black ink onto strip of white card stock; cut a flag end (optional).
  • Assemble:
    • Glue the heart-vine to the bottom edge of card base.
    • Glue the DSP above the heart-vine.
    • Glue the sentiment piece.
    • Overlap the two larger hearts and adhere to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
    • Glue the chicken image onto of the large hearts (or pop her up with Dimensionals).
    • Glue smaller hearts as desired (die cut from black & rococo rose CS using die from Lots of Hearts that cuts multiple small hearts all at once - see picture above).
    • Add embellishments (optional) to one of the larger hearts.  I used the Matte Black Dots (154284).  These Dots, along with the DSP, can be ordered as part of the Love You Always Suite of products (155977).
And there it is!

Thank you so much for your continued interest in my blog. I love sharing cards and techniques with you!   I hope you find inspiration for your own crafting projects.  Let me know if I can help in any way.

Visit again, soon, for more hearts and Valentines.  'Tis the time of year for that, right?
Till then, stay safe, be well, take care,
                                Julie💖
