It's a new year! Soon we will say the final good-bye to the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog (also known as the Holiday Catalog). LAST DAY TO ORDER FROM THE MINI IS MONDAY JAN.4.
Many, many items are on sale, and many/most are retiring. Today I want to share a card using some of the retiring items. After that, I've got a card for you that is made with new products, available to purchase starting Tuesday, January 5th. So today it's "out with the old, and in with the new!" Both cards are the same size, and have a similar layout/sketch. I hope you will use it as an idea for creating your own cards.
First up: Eat, Drink and Be Cozy Card.
Products from the Holiday Catalog are:
- Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- Warm Hugs stamp set
- Warm Wraps Dies
Here are the specifics for making this card:
- Card base: Smoky Slate card stock, 8 1/2" x 4 1/4", folded at 4 1/4".
- Plaid Tidings DSP: 4" x 4"
- Whisper white card stock, cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies.
- Classic Ink Pad: Pretty Peacock. Using sponge or blender brushes, add color to the center of the die-cut white piece.
- Stamp set: Warm Hugs. Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto the blended area of the white piece. On a scrap of white, stamp the cup image and die cut it with the Warm Wraps Dies.
- Glue the plaid DSP to the card base with Liquid Mulitpurpose Glue.
- Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cup below the sentiment. Then, also with Dimensionals, adhere the white piece to the plaid.
- Add embellishments (rhinestones or others you have, as you like).
- Card base: Basic Black CS, 8 1/2" x 4 1/4", folded at 4 1/4".
- Snail Mail DSP: 4" x 4".
- Whisper white CS piece: Die-cut with the die from Snail Dies.
- Classic Ink Pad: Bermuda Bay. Using sponge or blender brushes, add color to the center of the white piece.
- Tuxedo Black Ink: stamp the "hello" and the word bubble image onto the area you just sponged.
- Snail image: stamp this image from the Snailed It stamp set in Tuxedo Black onto white CS; die cut. Then color the snail image with Stampin' Blends (Smoky Slate, Daffodil, Bermuda Bay). On the larger package, I free-handed a cross-hatched pattern with the Bermuda Bay blends.
- Glue the DSP to the black card base.
- Glue the white piece next.
- Adhere the snail using Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Die cut a heart from Daffodil CS. The heart die is also in the set. Glue it to the word bubble.
