Stampin' Up!® In the Pines & Snow Front

Hi!  Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I have another Christmas project to share with you.

I combined elements from two stamp sets to make this snowy scene:  In the Pines and Snow Front.  I made this a "picture frame" card, too, for a different look.

Here's how I did it.

Start with real red card stock as the card base, cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".   Open up card base flat, and using the 2nd from largest stitched rectangles dies, cut out an opening in one half of the card base, leaving a frame of approximately 3/8".  Set this aside for now.

The scene is stamped onto a piece of whisper white card stock, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Using stamps from the Snow Front set, stamp the mountains, the cabin, the pathway, the dots/snow, and the deer in crumb cake ink.  (Yes, there are a pair of deer, bottom left corner of the card...almost hidden by the trees.)  Stamp the trees from In the Pines in shaded spruce.   On a scrap of white, stamp the sentiment.  I found the "Happy Christmas" in the Warm Hugs stamp set, but you can use any stamp you may have.  The sentiment piece is 3" x 1/2", but trim yours according to the size that best fits your sentiment.  Cut a "V" off one end for the flag look.

To assemble:

Glue the scene to the INSIDE of the card, under the front "frame."  Glue the sentiment flag to the outside, overlapping the frame.  Add a rhinestone or other embellishment.

The white you see, above, is the back of the stamped scene as seen from the inside of the card.

Below, the front of the card with the scene behind the frame:

Inside of card:

I cut a piece of real red card stock to cover the back of the scene piece; this red CS is 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Glue it over the back of the scene (on the inside of the card).  I felt it just finished it off nicely by doing this.

Cut another piece of white card stock for the greeting (5 3/8" x 4 1/8").  Stamp the greeting in real red ink and the tree in shaded spruce. The ground under the tree is also from In the Pines set; I stamped it in Crumb Cake.  The tree is from the In the Pines; the greeting is from Dove of Hope.  You may have another greeting you'd like to use.  Adhere the greeting piece, with glue, to the inside of the card.

There you have it!

Again, here are the stamps, die, and inks:

I hope you are inspired to create a scene of your own.
