Stampin' Up!® Curvy Celebrations

 

NEW!  Curvy stamp sets and coordinating dies!

I'm just loving these new products from Stampin' Up!   I have had such fun making cards using the stamps and dies.  I shared a couple of cards on an earlier post.   Today I have 2 more cards to show you, one with an autumn feel, the other, a Christmas one.  You can use the item numbers given at the end of the blog, for the new products starting Nov. 3.  

Gilded Curvy Autumn

The Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 153520), is available now, in the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog.  This pack has some gorgeous papers!  I hope you can see the gold accents on the pumpkins in the background paper on this card.  The metallic ribbon embellishment, which comes in a combo pack (153553), is also currently available in the Mini.  It goes perfectly with this design.  

Card Base:  Cajun Craze card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4"

Layer of  Petal Pink card stock, 5 1/4" x 4".  Adhere the Pink to the Cajun base.

Layer of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP:  5" x 3 3/4".  Onto this I glued the curved pieces. 

The curved pieces are cut from another piece of Cajun CS, and another piece of Petal Pink CS.  These were cut with the Curvy Dies.  Start with 5 1/2" x 2 1/2", cut the curves, then trim to fit the DSP layer (final width will be 5", and height approx. 2".)  Stamp the sentiment from Quite Curvy stamp set in Cajun onto the Pink.  Adhere the two curved pieces together and then adhere to the Gilded Autumn DSP.   Wrap a length of the metallic ribbon, approx. 6",  around the base of the Pink, glued to the back of the DSP.   Cut another piece of the ribbon, make a bow, adhere with a glue dot onto of the ribbon.

Now adhere it all to the card base, and it's done. 

 Inside I put a piece of Petal Pink 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" and left it blank to write a note.  You could add a sentiment of your choice.

Now let's look at the Coming Home Christmas card.

Stamp sets:

• Curvy Christmas 
• Coming Home (153500) (available now, in the Aug-Dec. Mini Catalog)

Dies:

• Curvy Dies
• Home Together Dies (153515).  ( Bundle (155144) Coming home stamps + Home together dies to save 10%)

Paper:  The Classic Christmas 6" x 6" DSP from the Curvy Celebrations promotion; Whisper White card stock for the card base (11" x 4 1/4" folded at 5 1/2");  Shaded Spruce card stock 4 1/4" x 1 1/2",Whisper White for the curves and for stamping the Coming Home elements (house, car, wreath, tree).

Glue the strip of Shaded Spruce CS to the top of the white card base.

Cut pieces of the Classic Christmas DSP in the Shaded Spruce shade using the Curvy Dies.  Overlap and layer these cut pieces onto the card base and glue in place, leaving some of the blank shaded spruce showing.  Cut the white curved pieces from CS (approx. 5" x 2") and trim to fit on top of the green curved pieces ; stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce; adhere the white curved pieces to card front.  I added a Shaded Spruce Holiday Rhinestone jewel (150457) next to the sentiment.

On pieces of white cardstock, stamp in Basic Gray ink the House, Wreath, Car, Tree images and die cut with the coordinating Home Together Dies.   Color with Stampin' Blends (Cherry Cobbler, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Pineapple Punch).  Glue the wreath to the house; glue the house to the card front.  Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the car, with the tree on its roof, to the card front.  

Inside I glued a strip of the DSP at the bottom and stamped Merry Christmas in Shaded Spruce ink.

Stampin' Up!® Celebration Tidings

 Create some cute place cards for that special celebration meal.  This year, it may be small gatherings for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving dinners, with perhaps only those in your social "bubble" - but more than ever a time for giving thanks & celebrating.   Dress up your table with personalized place cards!

These place cards use either cardstock or Designer Series Papers as background for the Celebration Tidings stamp set images.  

Stamp the image onto white or vanilla card stock using Cinnamon Cider ink; then die-cut.  I used one of the dies from Hippo Friends on most of these, but did use Stitched Rectangles on one (see Lucas).  Color in the pumpkins & leaves as you like - I used Stampin' Blends in Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green.  

Base size:  3" x 4 1/4" and fold in half.  Or if your die is larger, as the Stitched Rectangle die is, cut the base slightly larger at  4" x 4 1/4".  Base is cut in solid card stock (Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider) OR Designer Series Paper  - Gilded Autumn DSP has beautiful selections, which I used on some of these.   

Stamp set & dies I used:

Another option is to stamp directly onto a Whisper White card stock.  This is just as pretty, I think.  Don't the colors really pop?  Also a plus, it uses minimal supplies - really quick to make.

What do you think?  Do you have a favorite?  I'm sure you can think of many more variations, depending on what supplies you have on hand, including any embellishments or perhaps heat embossing the images in gold, etc.  Just let your imagination go!

I hope you'll be able to get together with some loved ones this season.  Using a pretty place card at each sitting will make it all that more special!

Stampin' Up!® Sweetest Time Christmas Card

 A Christmas Card recipe for the Sweetest Time:

Start with Jar of Flowers Stamp Set, punch out the jar with Jar Punch, fill with peppermint candies from Sweetest Time Stamp Set & coordinating Sweetest Border Dies, surround the jar with candy canes & holly, and place all onto a background of candy canes from 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper.  Complete the project with a strip of the DSP inside, and a Merry Christmas sentiment to fill it out.  What about adding a perfectly paired envelope, too?  Use the Envelopes Dies to cut a strip of the DSP for the envelope flap.  How sweet it is!!

Details & products used to create this specially sweet card:

Stamp Sets:  Sweetest Time (153436), Jar of Flowers (152515)

Papers:  'Tis the Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (153489) cut 5" x 3 3/4", real red card stock cut 5 1/8" x 3 7/8", whisper white card stock for card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4".  Holly and pine frond are die-cut from Garden Green card stock.

Dies:  Sweetest Borders Dies (153559), Stitched Rectangles Dies (148551), and for the envelope flap: Envelopes Dies (153531).

Punch:  Jar (152703)

Inks:  Crumb Cake for the jar; Real Red for the sweets and holly berries.

Inside card:  "Merry Christmas" stamped in real red ink - from the For Unto Us Stamp Set (153335).

Know what's even sweeter?   The 'Tis the Season DSP is 15% through October 31! 

 This card was such fun to make.  I hope you like it!

Coming Home Halloween

 Creating a Halloween card can be fun, or scary...or what about SPOOKY?

A link to all the products I used to make this fun-spooky card will be at the bottom of the post.  Click on the link there to be taken to my Stampin' Up! online store - select any or all of the products you need.

Here are the steps for making this card:

Base: I started with a card base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded at 4 1/4".  

Layer:  I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Using a circle die, approx.2 1/4" diameter, and the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, I cut out a circle, off center, in the black CS.    This will represent the full moon behind the house.  After cutting out the circle, then emboss the black CS using the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder.  I find it best to cut first, emboss 2nd, so as not to flatten the embossing when you go through the machine again.

House & tree images:  Stamp the house and tree images from Coming Home Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink:  stamp the house onto whisper white CS, and the tree onto Pumpkin.  Cut these images out with the coordinating Home Together Dies.  Color in the house with blender pens (I used the light of each of these colors): smoky slate, light basic black, night of navy, soft suede.  I also use light Pumpkin Pie along the house outline, to cover any white showing (so as to blend more, into the "moon" when adhered to the card).

Fence & pumpkins/jack-o-lanterns:  die cut the fence in basic black CS using die from Autumn Wheelbarrow Dies.  Cut the pumpkins using dies from Trio of Tags Dies from pumpkin CS.

Spooky - stamp in black onto white from Festive Corners Stamp Set; die cut using Stitched Rectangles.

Putting it all together: 

- Estimate location of the tree & glue it down, before gluing the cobweb-embossed black layer to the pumpkin card base.  You want the tree beneath the black layer.  After tree is glued, then glue on the black layer. 

- Glue the sentiment along lower right-hand side. 

- Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the house, than adhere the fence.  

-Glue the two pumpkins onto the fence.    

You may notice the small birds (bats?) in the sky - I just used a fine-tipped black marker to add those. If you have a small bird, or bat stamp, definitely use that instead.

   There you have it!   What do you think?   There are many of parts to this card, I realize - I went a bit crazy -  but the products I used can be used for many types of cards.

Curvy Christmas, Quite Curvy

It's Curvy Celebrations!!

What is this all about?   Starting NOVEMBER 3 - Two new stamp sets, coordinating dies and 6" x 6" Designer Papers.

I have made some cards today to give you a preview of these fun curvy sets.  You're going to love them, I'm sure! 

First up:  a fun card using one of the new Curvy Dies.  It works so well with one of my very favorite DSP from the Annual Catalog -  the Whale of a Time DSP (this DSP is on sale all October, 15% off).

 

Here is how I created this card:

  I cut a piece of the DSP with all the turtles swimming, using the Curvy Die.  I adhered it to another piece of DSP that had a scene of kelp and sunlight streaming from the ocean surface.  Next, I cut out one of the turtle images from another piece of DSP (sorry, cut by hand for this guy, no die).  The sentiment is in the Quite Curvy stamp set; I stamped it in Pacific Point Ink.  The big turtle was adhered with a dimensional.  All this scene was now adhered to a card base of Balmy Blue card stock (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded at 4 1/4").  Love these turtles!!  What do you think?

Next, another whimsical card:  I used the same Curvy Die as above.  For the striped paper and pet images, I used the Playful Pets DSP (also currently 15% off). 

 The card base is Cinnamon Cider card stock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded at 4 1/4".  I used the Curvy Dies to cut twice, a piece of the Playful Pets DSP (stripes) and adhered to card base with Liquid Mulit Purpose Glue.  I stamped the sentiment from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento.  The hearts are from the Pampered Pets stamp set.  Then the dog was die cut from the DSP, and the cat was hand-cut from the DSP.  I glued the kitty down, but I "popped up" the dog with a Stampin' Dimensional.  Quick card to put together, but aren't these images adorable?   Do you agree?   It's a fun card for any animal lover you know.

Finally, this last card would be wonderful to send to someone special.   Or, it would also make a stunning Thanksgiving Day card.  The deep Rich Razzleberry and bright Mango Melody colors set the stage, definitely!

The card base is Rich Razzleberry card stock, 11" x 4 1/4" folded at 5 1/2".   The plaid layer is from the Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" DSP (yes, also currently 15%).  I cut a piece of the plaid 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  Then, I used the Curvy Die to cut the bottom, taking off about 1", approximately.  On a piece of Mango Melody card stock, I stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Autumn stamp set (153450), and die cut it out using Stitched Shapes Dies (145372).  The sprigs were cut with the Curvy Dies in Mango Melody, Rich Razzleberry, and gold foil card stock.  The Gold Hoop embellishment (152474) and the Gold Trim (metallic twine) (152475) were adhered this way:  Mini Glue Dots (103683) for the hoop, Stampin' Dimensionals for adhering the sprigs behind the sentiment, and then to the card front; wrap twine around the front, then adhere all to the Razzleberry card base.  The final detail:  I stamped the sprig image from the Curvy Christmas stamp set in Razzleberry onto the card base, just under the curved edge of the plaid DSP.

These cards show just a few of the many possibilities using these new Curvy Dies and the 2 stamp sets, Quite Curvy and Curvy Christmas.  The sets also have leaf images, floral images, birds - and dies to cut them out.

For today's project I have use the beautiful Plaid Tidings DSP and the Arrange a Wreath stamp set as focal points on my card.  I have added a sentiment from the Autumn Goodness stamp set, and some "sprinkles" stamped from the Forever Fern stamp set.  

The card base is Pretty Peacock, 5 1/2" x 11", folded at 4 1/4".

Plaid layer, from Plaid Tidings DSP, cut 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".

Whisper white, to stamp the images, 4 1/4" x 3 1/2".

Inks used:  Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze, Mango Melon.

I stamped the wreath image in Pretty Peacock, first stamping it off one time on a scrap paper.  This gave a lighter version of the wreath.  Then I stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze (oak leaf image) and Mango Melon (smaller pair of leaves).  I filled in around the wreath with dot-image/sprinkles in Peacock (full strength - no stamping off this time), and also in Mango Melon.   Sentiment, from the Autumn Goodness stamp set, was stamped in Peacock.  Then just adhere the layers to the base, and all done!  What do you think?

Let's start with a few cards I've made with some of the more whimsical, fun patterns.

For the card below, I used the Playful Pets DSP.  (152489)

The little yorkie dog was cut from the DSP:

I had fun making a couple of "swing" cards (posted on earlier blogs).  On these 2 cards the DSP is Whale of a Time (152460), one of my favorites.  The DSP provides the undersea background in the whale card.  For the turtle card, I cut out one of the turtle images, and made him the focal of the whole school of swimming turtles on the DSP (is a group of turtles a "school"? Hmmm.)

You may remember this card from a recent post here on my blog.  The background to this snow scene, the mountains, is from Trimming the Town DSP (153491).  Doesn't it provide a cool backdrop for the bunny & penguin on the slopes?
