Lattice/trellis card

Hi!  Today I want to show you a fun-fold card that's been popular on several crafty sites.  I'll be using some products that are on the Last Chance List... retiring products in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the 2023 Jan-Apr Mini Catalog.  To see what products are being discontinued, click images in the right panel & download the Lists.

To shop my online store go HERE.

This is such a fun card to put together!

Here we go...

Card Base:  Crushed Curry card stock, 11" x 4 1/4".  Score & fold at 5 1/2".  Then cut six 1/2" strips from the card front.

Strips 1 & 2:  glue the TOP ONLY of the strips vertically, lining up the bottom of each strip to the bottom edge of the card - this insures they are straight up-and-down.  These are the "posts".

Remaining strips:  These you'll glue horizontally, overlapping the 2 vertical posts.

  • Start with the bottom-most strip, lining it up along bottom edge of the card. ONLY GLUE WHERE THE STRIP CROSSES THE POST.

  • Continue with the remaining 3 horizontal strips.

Now you can decorate the front & inside as you like.  I'll describe what I used to create my card.

Designer Series Paper:  Butterfly Kisses DSP, cut 4 1/8" x 2 1/2".

Floral image:  Greatest Journey stamp set & coordinating Greatest Journey Dies.  Stamp in Gray Granite ink onto white card stock.  Color with Stampin' Blends; die cut.

Fussy cut a butterfly from the DSP.

Sentiment:  from Thanks A Bunch stamp set; stamp with Calypso Coral ink onto white card stock; punch out with the Cloud Punch.

Assemble:
Glue the DSP piece across the top of the card front.
Glue the floral image along the bottom, taking card not to glue the card closed.
Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment & the butterfly.
I added a little flower embellishment from the pack of Fun Flower Resin Shapes.

Inside:  I put another piece of the flower DSP, cut 3" x 4" - Just be aware that this piece can been seen through the slats on the front of the card, so choose your DSP accordingly.  You could also use a solid color of card stock.  I adhered a piece of white card stock at the top, inside: 2 1/4" x 4" for a place to write your message.  I stamped a sentiment & a butterfly from Easter Bunny stamp set.

There you have it.  I hope you will give this fun-fold card design a try, using your favorite DSP & stamp images.

Here is the list of products used on my card.  I will note which are on the retiring list.
