Stampin' Up!® Home & Garden Bundle - retiring soon

Hello!  Welcome to my blog today.

My card today is made using Home & Garden Bundle.  It's on the RETIRING LIST.

It's time for the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog to retire.  Some of the stamp sets and other products will be found in the new Annual Catalog or in future minis, but many items are only available through June 30, or while supplies last.  There are many that are discounted...up to 50%.

View the list of retiring products HERE.

Card Details

Card base is Garden Green card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded at 4 1/4".

The leafy layered piece:  Pear Pizzazz CS that I stamped using the large background stamp Tropical Hideaway (AC item 158933) using Garden Green Ink.  Cut to a finished size of 5 1/4" x 4".

I water-colored the sky piece:  use water color paper (Fluid Watercolor paper 149612), Water Painters (151298), and a blue ink pad, such as Balmy Blue.  Set aside to dry.  Later you'll add the yellow trim piece along the left-hand edge.

Stamping & Die Cutting

  • Stamp the ladder image with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake CS & die cut.
  • Stamp the tools on So Saffron CS with Saffron ink, and again on Crumb Cake CS with Crumb Cake ink.  Die cut all.  Stamp & cut the spade head and the blades of shears out of the crumb cake & adhere on top of the Saffron tools.
  • Die cut tropical leaves out of Garden Green CS.  I used a retired set of dies (In the Tropics).  You can use any foliage dies you might already have. Or try the Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder & Die (159168), new in the Annual Catalog.
  • Edging Piece:  Die cut an edging piece out of Crushed Curry CS.  I used the Palms Dies for this.
    • This set of dies & the coordinating stamp set, Paradise Palms, are in the retiring mini  - retiring as a BUNDLE (#157719);  they did carry over to the AC, but separately in the Annual Catalog.  The bundle will be discontinued June 30.
  • Adhere to the water-colored background along the left edge (I used a small amount of liquid glue).

Assemble:

  • Adhere the Tropical Hideaway stamped layer to card base.
  • Add a piece of DSP with a wood-grain or other textile-textured pattern (such as from He's The Man DSP 158941), cut 3" x 4 1/4".  Glue this on top of the Tropical piece off-set at an angle.
  • Glue the water-colored piece (with the edging piece already glued on), positioned square with the card base.
  • Add the die cut ladder & leaves using glue.  Add shears with dimensionals.
  • Sentiment:  stamp with Early Espresso ink onto a piece of white.  Glue the trowel beneath the words, then trim the piece.  Add some linen trim/thread behind the sentiment.  Adhere to card with dimensionals.
  • Embellishments:  I used one large & 2 small Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots (159082).

There you have it.  I made the card, originally, as a masculine card.  But it would be fun to send to anyone, really, who enjoys gardening.  What do you think?

Here are pictures of the items I used:
