Clean & Simple Stamping

Hello, there, and welcome to my blog.

I want to keep it simple, today.  If you are newer to stamping, or like a clean & simple card, or want to stamp a card with minimal products, I have just the thing for you!  No die cutting, no fussy cutting, just simple card making using some Designer Series Paper and coordinating ink colors, an image to stamp, and a greeting.

Let's get started!

I've used these stamp sets to make 2 versions of  a clean & simple card:

  • Hand-penned Petals - floral image & "Thanks" sentiment
  • Watercolor Shapes - for the focal circle of color
  • Artfully Layered - for the birthday sentiment

The DSP I chose is Hand-Penned 12" x 12" DSP - retiring from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, on May 2.
Ink colors:  Pale Papaya (thanks card), Fresh Freesia (birthday card), Memento Tuxedo Black.

Card #1 - Thanks

  • Card base:  Basic White CS 11" x 4 1/4" scored & folded at 5 1/2".  (this is a top-fold card)
  • DSP:  Hand-Penned, 5 1/4" x 4".  Adhere to card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or your favorite adhesive.
  • Image panel:
    • Basic White CS, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".
    • Stamp the circle shape from Watercolor Shapes stamp set using Pale Papaya ink.
    • Stamp the flower image and the "Thanks" from Hand-Penned Petals stamp set using Memento Black ink.
    • Glue to card front.
  • add any sequins or rhinestones (optional)

Card #2 - Birthday
  • Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".  (this is a "book fold" card)
  • DSP:  Hand-Penned, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Adhere to card base.
  • Image & Sentiment panels:
    • Basic White CS - two pieces:  3 3/4" x 3 1/2"  and  3 3/4" x 1 1/4".
    • Stamping:
      • Using the circle shape from Watercolor Shapes, stamp using Fresh Freesia ink onto the larger piece.
      • Using the sentiment from Artfully Layered stamp set, stamp it in Memento Black ink on the smaller piece.
      • Glue the two pieces to the card front with a gap between them (see photo).
There you have it!  I hope you'll give this a try.
Use the measurements I've given for the card bases and panels.
Choose any Designer Series Papers you like, along with an image stamp that pairs well with the DSP.  Select your favorite sentiment or greeting.  Use the circle shape, or change it up with one of the other shapes. Then put it all together.
I'd love to hear what you think.
