Stampin' Up!© Frightfully Cute Halloween Card

Hi!  Happy you are here, today.  I'm sharing a fun-fold card using the Frightfully Cute Bundle from the July-December (Holiday) Mini Catalog.  I'm also using the Cute Halloween 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) that is also in the Mini Catalog.  It can be purchased alone, or with the Cute Halloween Suite of products.  The star embellishments from the Suite also found their way onto my card, today.  As you'll see.

Supply list HERE

September host code:   ZDECNQZP

Here are the steps to make this fun fold card.

1.  Cut your papers:

  • Card base:  Start with Basic Black card stock, 11" x 4 1/4".  Score this at 5 1/2".
  • Now cut off one of the ends at 2 3/4".  SAVE this piece (2 3/4" x 4 1/4").

  • Cut DSP piece, the black & white candy, 4 1/8" x 2 5/8".
  • Cut DSP, the green with houses, 4" x 2 1/2".
  • Cut a piece of Basic White CS, for the inside, 5" x 3 3/4".

2.  Adhere DSP pieces

  • Glue the candy DSP to the flap of the card base.
  • Glue the green with house piece to the piece of black CS that was cut off the base.
  • DON'T adhere the white, inside piece, yet.  You will be stamping some images on this. (You can adhere now, if you want.  I usually wait to do my "stamping then sticking" in case my stamping goes wrong.  The choice is yours.)

3.  Die Cutting

  • Using the Frightful Tags Dies that come in the Frightfully Cute Bundle, die cut the tree & the fence out of Basic Black CS.
  • Using Layering Circles Dies, cut the moon from white CS.  Use the circle die that is 1 7/8" in diameter.

4.  Time to stamp.

  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the witch on to a piece of white.  Fussy cut her out.  (It's ok to have a small white border around her, as it won't show once she's glued to the moon.)
  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the sentiment onto the moon, positioning it towards the right edge, so that you can add the witch later.
  • Stamp the inside sentiment and flasks on to the large white CS cut earlier (5" x 3 3/4").

5.  Putting it all together

  • NOW you can glue the piece with the stamped flasks to the inside.
  • Glue the witch to the moon.

  • Glue the left half of green house piece to the card FLAP front.  CAREFUL not to apply any adhesive except to the area which will stick to the flap.  You want to be able to open the card.
  • Glue the moon to the green house piece.
  • Glue the tree, slightly overlapping the moon.
  • Glue the fence.

6.  Add some Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the inside (or wherever you would like to put them).

There you are!  What do you think?  I like the layout of this fun-fold card, and I can think of many more variations to try.  Maybe you, too, already have some ideas!
