May 2021 Monthly Blog Hop

Hi, and welcome to this month's blog hop!

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators Monthly Team Blog Hop!  We are so happy that you could join us today for ideas and creative inspiration.

We are a group of Stampin' Up! ®  Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin' Up!® business and reach some goals we have set.  We really appreciate your support.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog - either way, you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.  Don't miss a single one!

Our theme is Thank You.

My Thank You card uses the products in the Pansy Petals Suite.

The Pansy Petals Suite is fast becoming a favorite among stampers all around the globe.  Count me as one of them!  It's new this year, and can be found in the just released NEW 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

Stamp sets used:

  • Pansy Patch, Hand-Penned Petals (filler leaves), Sweet Ice Cream (filler dots).

Card Details:

  • Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" X 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Calypso Coral CS layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • DSP layer:  Pansy Petals DSP (soft succulent gingham), 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Piece of white CS for stamping:  2 3/4" x 4".
    • Using the smaller pansy stamps and Calypso Coral Ink, randomly stamp pansies all over.  For the "beard" I used Cajun Craze Ink.
    •  Filler dots are from Sweet Ice Cream set and stamped in Pale Papaya ink.
    •  Filler leaves are from Hand-penned Petals set, stamped in Soft Succulent Ink.
  • Sentiment:
    • I used a label cut-out from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit, (you could use Basic White CS 3" x 3/4"), stamped with Thank You from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Soft Succulent ink.
    • I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere all the layers to the card base.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals for the sentiment piece.
    • I added one of the new In Color Jewels (soft succulent color) to the sentiment piece.

Here's another version, showing how to "step-it-up" using some dies.

I used the same color palette (calypso coral and cajun craze for flowers, soft succulent for leaves and stamped sentiment)

The dies I used:

  • Pansy Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Details:

  • Card base:  Soft Succulent CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layers glued on front of card base:
    • Basic White DSP:  cut using the largest die from Scalloped Contours Dies.
    • Calypso Coral CS layer:  4 3/4" x 3 7/16" (just under 3 1/2") to glue on top of the scalloped white layer.
    • DSP layer:  again, the gingham from Pansy Petals DSP, 4 5/8" x 3 5/16" (just over 3 1/4").
  • Focal design:
    • Stamp 1 large and 2 smaller pansies with Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze on to a piece of white CS; die-cut using Pansy Dies.
    • Die cut 1 large and 2 smaller leaves from Soft Succulent CS, using Pansy Dies. (The dies also emboss veins on the leaves - so pretty!)
    • Using the 2nd smallest die from Scalloped Contours Dies, cut a scalloped piece of white CS.  The pansies will be adhered to this scalloped piece.
    • Stamp sentiment with Soft Succulent ink on another piece of white CS; die cut this using small die from Stitched Rectangles Dies.
  • Assemble:
    • Using Stampin Dimensionals, adhere the pansies on top of the white scalloped die-cut piece.
    • Tuck and glue the leaves around the pansies and the sentiment piece on top of leaves.
    • Use more dimensionals to adhere to card front.
    • Add an In Color Jewel to sentiment piece.
One final version - cut the large scalloped piece from Calypso Coral CS and adhere to a white CS card base.

I hope you enjoyed the cards.  Do you have a favorite of the three I've shared, today?  I would love to hear what you think.
