Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites to work with. The images in the paper set the scene, with a little stamping added, to create this card. The star filled sky is a piece of DSP from the pack. The little house & tree are also images on the DSP. I fussy cut them for the snow glob scene.
This card does use quite a few dies. Many of the products used to make this card will be 10% off one day only, November 24th. More details are at the end of this blog.
Card details:
The Home Together Dies, part of the Trimming the Town Suite of products, was used to cut the snow slope out of Whisper White.
Other dies I used to make this card are:
- Snow Globe Scenes Dies - to cut the DOME shape of starry sky, the SNOW GLOBE BASE in Misty Moonlight, and the FINER DETAILED overlaying the base, in whisper white
- Poinsettia Dies - the small dies cut & emboss the flowers at the same time; cut them & then layer 2 for each flower
- Layering Circles Dies - to cut the opening for the globe
- Home Together Dies - for the snow slope
- Using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies, cut a piece of the starry sky DSP with the dome shaped-die.
- Card Base: Misty Moonlight card stock 11" 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2"
- Layer of Seaside Spray card stock, 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". Cut an opening in the card stock using layering circle die just bigger than the dome. The dome should fit, protruding through the opening
- Scrap piece of Misty Moonlight CS - cut snow globe base using Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
- Scrap of Whisper White CS - use the detailed die from Snow Globe Scenes Dies to cut the overlay of the snow globe base. Glue onto the misty moonlight cut base.
- Remove the adhesive backing from the FRONT of the dome. Lay the Seaside Spray CS over this, and adhere it to the dome. Adhere the base piece up against the bottom of the dome.
- Fussy cut the house & tree and cut a slope of snow using curved die from Home Together Dies. Trim it to fit onto the sky piece, tucking the house beneath and the tree on top of the slope.
- Position the sky/house/hill scene onto the Misty Moonlight card base, and estimate its position so that it will be beneath the dome. Now it's a little tricky - without moving where you have placed the scene, remove the other adhesive from the back of the dome, and add some glue to the back of the Seaside Spray layer at the same time. Carefully turn the piece of Seaside/dome back over & place the Seaside layer, with the dome, over the house scene and adhere it all down onto the Misty Moonlight card base.
- Cut and assemble the poinsettias using Poppy Parade card stock and Poinsettia Dies. The centers can be either a small flower punched from So Saffron card stock (I used the Confetti Flowers Border Punch), or Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes or other small embellishment (pearl, rhinestone, etc).
- Adhere the flowers to the card base. Stamp sentiment from Snowman Season stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink onto white CS and cut with Stitched Rectangles. Glue to card base.
