Stampin' Up!® Tea Boutique Preview

Hello there!  One of my very favorite new collections that you will see in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog starting May 3:  The  Tea Boutique Suite.

The Suite Collection includes a Bundle (stamp set + dies), some 6" x 6" Designer Series Papers and a package of card bases & envelopes (Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes).

Summary of new products used on this card:

  • Tea Boutique DSP
  • Cup of Tea Bundle (stamps + dies)
  • Sweet Sorbet Ink and Card Stock (new 2022-2024 In Color)

The tea cup is die cut from a selection of the DSP.

I stamped the leaves (Pear Pizazz ink) and floral images (Sweet Sorbet ink) onto Basic White Card Stock, then used a die from Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut it all out.

NOTE:  The Stitched So Sweetly Dies are on the Last Chance List - they will no long be available after May 2.   I'm sad to see this set retire - it's one of my favorite sets of dies.  Shop the Last Chance items HERE.

The gingham DSP is also from the Tea Boutique DSP pack.  I layered it onto Sweet Sorbet CS, then adhered it to the Basic White card base.

The sentiment, HELLO, is from Forever Fern stamp set, stamped with Sweet Sorbet onto the image piece.

I added a couple embellishments - the Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Here are more tea cups!

This card also uses the Cup of Tea Bundle (stamps + dies).  But the DSP on this card, also a NEW product, is called Hues of Happiness 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  It is full of gorgeous roses in a rainbow of colors!  The DSP is also in a Suite Collection call Hues of Happiness.  The collection includes, in addition to the DSP, a stamp+die Bundle called Happiness Abounds, and Glossy Dots Assortment embellishments.

I adhered a selection of the DSP to a Melon Mambo CS card base.

Using the Tea Cups Dies:

  •  I die-cut two tea cups from 2 selection of Cut of Tea DSP which I adhered, using Stampin' Dimensionals, to a doily (Heart & Home Doilies, from the January-June Mini Catalog).
  •  I die cut the mini label and used Mini Glue Dots to add the twine & also to adhere to the tea cup.

The sentiment is in Pansy Patch stamp set.  I die cut it with a long label die from the NEW die set:  Sending Smiles.  I add a couple of the Glossy Dots Assortment embellishments to the label.

New Stampin' Up!® 2022-2024 In Colors Preview

Hello!  Welcome!  Five new In Colors!!

Coming soon - the New In Colors!  These will be available, as will the new Annual SU Catalog, on May 3.

Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky, and Tahitian Tide

If you don't know what "In Colors" means - every 2 years Stampin' Up!® releases 5 new colors, in addition to the 4 Collections of colors (Brights, Regals, Subtles & Neutrals). The In Colors are available for the 2-year period, then are retired, with 5 new ones added.

As you'd expect from SU, you'll be able to get all the coordinating products in these In Colors.  That means ink pads, card stock, Blender Pens, Stampin' Write Markers, and many embellishments (ribbons, sequins, matte dots, etc.).  AND, of course, many of the Designer Series Papers in the new Catalog will have the new In Colors in their patterns.

If that's not enough, the Paper Pumpkin Kit for May will be all about the 5 new In Colors!

Paper Pumpkin Kit is the monthly subscription "craft-in-a-box" with each month's Kit full of all you need to create pretty cards and other projects.  More info on Paper Pumpkin Kits HERE.   Subscribe by the 10th of any given month in order to receive that month's Kit.  Or...if you want to skip a month, just be sure to go to your Paper Pumpkin account & suspend any given month - also by the 10th.

Now, I have a couple cards to share, highlighting two of the new In Colors:  the Parakeet Party & Sweet Sorbet.

First up:  the Parakeet Party In Color.

card front using Parakeet Party DSP and inside of card

Easter is coming!  My favorite time of the year!!   Here is a cute Easter card I made for my cousins' grandson who is 4 years old.  It uses a selection from the In Color DSP Assortments pack - I went with the Parakeet Party polka dot.  I die cut it using the Picture This Dies.  Then I glued it to a piece of Basic White CS, the same size as the die-cut panel.  I used Smoky Slate ink to stamp the images inside each circle "window" and colored them with assorted Blending Pens.  Then I adhered the panel to a Daffodil Yellow CS card base.  The little chick-in-egg image is from Hey Birthday Chick stamp set - on the Last Chance List.  The stamps for the other images are retired:  Basket Bunch.  But the possibilities are almost endless as to what you can have peeking out of the windows.

Next In Color Highlight:  Sweet Sorbet

This card also gives you a preview of new DSP (Tea Boutique) and a new Bundle (Sending Smiles - stamp set + dies).

These items, the DSP and Bundle, will be available, along with the In Color CS and ink, on May 3 when the new Annual Catalog goes live.  BUT, if you want to get them now, think about joining my Team as a Demonstrator and you can pre-order them right away.   Join for $99 and get $125 in products, and this includes anything from the upcoming Catalog.   It's easy to join - just click JOIN at the top of this blog.  Let me know if you have any questions; I'd love to have you on my team to stamp & craft with and share ideas and inspiration.

Clean & Simple Stamping

Hello, there, and welcome to my blog.

I want to keep it simple, today.  If you are newer to stamping, or like a clean & simple card, or want to stamp a card with minimal products, I have just the thing for you!  No die cutting, no fussy cutting, just simple card making using some Designer Series Paper and coordinating ink colors, an image to stamp, and a greeting.

Let's get started!

I've used these stamp sets to make 2 versions of  a clean & simple card:

  • Hand-penned Petals - floral image & "Thanks" sentiment
  • Watercolor Shapes - for the focal circle of color
  • Artfully Layered - for the birthday sentiment

The DSP I chose is Hand-Penned 12" x 12" DSP - retiring from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, on May 2.
Ink colors:  Pale Papaya (thanks card), Fresh Freesia (birthday card), Memento Tuxedo Black.

Card #1 - Thanks

  • Card base:  Basic White CS 11" x 4 1/4" scored & folded at 5 1/2".  (this is a top-fold card)
  • DSP:  Hand-Penned, 5 1/4" x 4".  Adhere to card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or your favorite adhesive.
  • Image panel:
    • Basic White CS, 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".
    • Stamp the circle shape from Watercolor Shapes stamp set using Pale Papaya ink.
    • Stamp the flower image and the "Thanks" from Hand-Penned Petals stamp set using Memento Black ink.
    • Glue to card front.
  • add any sequins or rhinestones (optional)

Card #2 - Birthday
  • Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4".  (this is a "book fold" card)
  • DSP:  Hand-Penned, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Adhere to card base.
  • Image & Sentiment panels:
    • Basic White CS - two pieces:  3 3/4" x 3 1/2"  and  3 3/4" x 1 1/4".
    • Stamping:
      • Using the circle shape from Watercolor Shapes, stamp using Fresh Freesia ink onto the larger piece.
      • Using the sentiment from Artfully Layered stamp set, stamp it in Memento Black ink on the smaller piece.
      • Glue the two pieces to the card front with a gap between them (see photo).
There you have it!  I hope you'll give this a try.
Use the measurements I've given for the card bases and panels.
Choose any Designer Series Papers you like, along with an image stamp that pairs well with the DSP.  Select your favorite sentiment or greeting.  Use the circle shape, or change it up with one of the other shapes. Then put it all together.
I'd love to hear what you think.
