Stampin' Up!® Sweet As A Peach Bundle

There are just a few days left in March!  Where has the month gone?!  It's certainly a busy time of year at Stampin' Up!®

Two promotions going on now:

  • 1)  The 20% OFF Sale of the Mini Cut&Emboss Machine and 20% OFF select Bundles (Bundle=stamps+dies).  This ENDS MARCH 31.
  • 2)  The Last Chance Products List - items will be GONE AFTER MAY 2; save up to 50% off.

The card I'm sharing today uses items from both the promotions:  The Bundle called Sweet As A Peach  and, from the Last Chance List - the Hippo & Friends Dies (also happens to be 20% off, just the dies).  There is a link of all supplies at the bottom of this post.

For more info on both promotions, click the respective images in the right-hand panel of this blog.

SALE ENDING MARCH 31st

RETIRING PRODUCTS, GONE MAY 2

This is the Bundle I used on my card, the Sweet As A Peach Bundle.
Sweet As A Peach Bundle #155832 - 20% till March 31, or while supplies last.

For the sentiment, I cut it out using the Hippo & Friends Dies, retiring after May 2.  You'll find lots of uses for this very versatile die set, full of nesting labels in 3 styles.  It's one of my favorites!!

Hippo & Friends Dies #153585 - on Last Chance List - 20% through May 2

stamps & dies used on today's card
Shop:  Supply Link.

Card Details

  • Designer Series Paper, You're A Peach:  Cut 12" x 4 ".  Score & fold DSP at 3 1/4" and 8 1/2".  (If your DSP is directional, pay attention to the pattern so that images are upright.)  This creates 2 flaps, one is 3 1/2" x 4 ".  The other flap is 3 1/4" x 4".
  • Card stock base:  Calypso Coral cut 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
  • Glue the center back of the DSP to the card stock base.  Fold DSP flaps, overlapping the flaps with the larger flap overlapping the smaller flap.
  • Front of card, focal piece:
    • From the Sweet As A Peach stamp set:  Stamp peach with Calypso Coral ink and peach stem in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Basic White CS.  Die cut using Peach Dies.
    • Stamp sentiment in Calypso Coral ink onto white CS; die cut with label die from Hippo & Friends Dies, slightly off-setting the sentiment to the right-hand edge, leaving room on the left, where the peach die-cut will go.
    • Cut 2 strips of coordinating DSP, 3/4" wide in 2 different lengths, approximately 5" and 4 1/2".
    • Glue the 2 strips of DSP, overlapping one another, to the left-hand flap (careful not to glue card shut).
    • Glue or use Mini Glue Dot to glue the stem to the back of the peach.
    • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the peach to the sentiment label, and adhere the label to the card front flap (again, careful not to seal the card shut) placing on top of the 2 strips of DSP.

Inside card

Basic White CS cut 3 3/4" x 5".  Stamp the branch in Pear Pizzazz.  Stamp the smaller peach trio in Calypso Coral.  Stamp the sentiment in Calypso Coral.  Glue to inside of card.

You can use the measurements and instructions and other DSP, stamp sets, & dies to create your own unique card. It's a great layout to use your DSP, showcasing both sides of the paper.  I hope you are inspired to try it!  I'd love to hear what you think.

Stampin' Up!© Easter Friends Double-Z card

I always look forward to Spring and especially Easter.  What about you?

Well, I couldn't wait to share this card with you.  I was inspired by Meg Loven for the Double-Z layout that she did.  I'll give you the dimensions and how to make it.  It's not only fun, but very easy to put together.  There will be a link for all the supplies at the bottom of the post.

To see where we're going with this card, here is a view from the top.  The card base (blushing bride) forms a Z, and the sentiment strip (crushed curry) forms the 2nd Z.

But let's start at the beginning.

  • Card base:  Blushing Bride CS, 8 1/2" X 4 1/4".  Score at 4 1/4" and at 2 1/8".
  • Strip for "mechanism":  Crushed Curry CS, 8 1/2" x 3/4".  Score at 4 1/4" and at 2 1/8".
  • Fold along the score lines, forming the Z in both the base & the strip.

See below.

You will actually flip the strip so that the long piece will be attached to the card front panel...but I'll explain further along in the instructions.

Fold on all score lines.

Flip the strip/mechanism so the long end is over the card front flap (left panel).

Designer Series Paper panels:  I used Abstract Beauty DSP

Cut a 4" x 4" piece of DSP.   Then cut this in half, to get 2 pieces 4" x 2".

Glue one panel to the front flap, positioning it up against the vertical score line.

1st DSP panel on card front flap, up against the score line.

Now, glue the 2nd panel to the inside, right-hand, but leaving a little border of the card base.  The two panels should line up when card is closed.

2nd panel, leaving border.

Panels line up when card is closed.  Note border of Blushing Bride card base around the outside edges.

Now to finish the inside:

  • White Card Stock for inside:  2" x 4".
  •  Stamp some grass (jade green ink) and a few flowers (crushed curry, blushing bride inks).  The grass is in the Easter Friends stamp set, the flowers are in the Hello Beautiful stamp set. (The Hello Beautiful has coordinating dies, available in a Bundle - saving 10%)
  • Glue panel to inside.

Next:  The "mechanism" - the strip of crushed curry card stock previously cut & scored.

Stamp sentiment from Easter Friends in Just Jade ink on the longer end (4 1/8" long end).

Using a strong adhesive or Tear & Tape, adhere this strip/mechanism to the card.  Be careful not to seal the card closed.  Add adhesive just to about half-way behind the sentiment on the left end.  At the other end, the end that is inside the card, the right end, you want to add adhesive the full 2 1/8" length.  NO ADHESIVE to the middle fold.

Focal Piece:

Stamp the duckling image from Easter Friends in crushed curry ink onto white CS.   Stamp some grass in Just Jade.

Cut out using Layering Circles dies.  You can run it through the MINI CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE - on SALE this month for 20% off!

Color as you like (optional):  I used a Blender Pen (no ink) to softly blend the ink that was stamped on.  I used a Stampin' Write Marker in Pumpkin Pie to color the duck bill & feet.  I have a micro-tip marker in black that I used to color the eyes.

Adhere duckling to card front:  apply glue just to the back half of the circle that will glue it to the card front flap. Again, you don't want to seal the card closed.

Add embellishments:  I used some heart & flower cut-outs that come in the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack.  I also used some Loose Flower Flourishes from the Annual Catalog.

There you have it.  Such a cute duckling that will bring a smile to anyone's face.  What do you think?  I hope you are inspired to try this card layout.  I can't wait to do more like this!

  ☘MARCH HOST CODE is:  C427R322

Use this at check out, please, when your order is under $150 (before tax & shipping fees), so that I can send you a little thank-you.  If your purchase total is $150 or greater, don't use the code - you will, instead pick a reward from any current Catalog.

Since this post is on the longer side, I'll sign off now.   But please take a look at current promotions and info in the right-side panel.  The Mini Cut & Emboss Machine is on sale, as are some Bundles (stamps+dies).  The Mini Catalog is still "live" and the "All Together" promotion is going strong.  Also the Waves of the Ocean collection of products is now available.

Thank you for taking a look at the blog.  I hope you like this happy duckling and the fun-fold layout.

Visit again soon.  I'll have more Spring-time cards to share.

Till then, Happy Crafting!!     ~JULIE

Stampin' Up!© Waves of the Ocean, Seas the Day

The new Waves of the Ocean collection is now available!  The Designer Series Papers are beautiful, and inspired me to use a selection on this card.

The products I used are:   (see also HERE)

  • Stamp Sets:  Waves of Inspiration (Pelican image), Ocean Front (grass images), Seas the Day (sentiment on front), Let's Set Sail (inside sentiment).
  • Soft Suede Ink Pad
  • Dies:  Waves Dies (pelican), Tasteful Labels Dies (banner).

  • Embellishments:  Paper Lattice, In Color enamel dots.

Card Details

  • Waves of the Ocean DSP:  I wanted the look of ocean and sea shore (sand).  I choose a selection that had those colors, and cut it down to 3" x 4".
  • Layer of Early Espresso CS:  cut 3 1/8" x 4 1/8".   Glue the Waves of Ocean DSP to this layer.
  • Card base:  Soft Suede CS:   8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded at 4 1/4".
  • Paper Lattice:  glue one of the lattice pieces to the card base, positioning toward the left edge; I used Multipurpose Glue, added just to where the lattice piece would be covered by the DSP layer.
  • Stamp the sentiment in soft suede ink onto a scrap of Basic White CS; die cut with Tasteful Labels Dies.
  • Stamp the Pelican image in soft suede ink onto a piece of Basic White CS; die cut with Waves Dies; color beak and feet with Stampin' Blends (light pumpkin pie), if you want.

  • Stamp some of the grass and "dots" images in soft suede onto the DSP at the bottom edge (on the "shore")

  • Adhere (with Multipurpose glue) the DSP panel to the card front, on top of the lattice, positioned slightly toward the right edge of the card front.
  • Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment and the Pelican Image.
  • Add enamel dots.

  • INSIDE:

    • Basic White CS, 3 3/4" x 5".
    • Stamp sentiment from Let's Set Sail stamp set in soft suede.
    • Adhere a strip of the Waves of the Ocean DSP to the bottom edge, 3 3/4" x 3/4".
    • Glue to inside of card.
I also like to decorate the envelope, to coordinate with the card.  I stamped the Pelican on the back of the envelope, in soft suede ink, and added the bird image stamped twice, once full-strength of ink, one stamped off, to give a lighter image (off in the distance).

There you have it.  I think this would be a great masculine card, don't you?

I hope you are inspired to use some of these products.  The DSP would also be gorgeous on a scrap-book page.
If you see something you'd like to have, I'd love for you to shop my online store.  Just click the shop button at top of the blog or click SHOP now.
