You still have time!!  SALE-A-BRATION goes through February 28.  But hurry!! Items going fast!

SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS 6" x 6" Designer Series Papers - Item #158126 FREE with $50 purchase

Rainbow & Sunshine & Shamrocks card:

I chose a version of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP with lots of green in it to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, coming in March. One side, full of rainbows; the flip side of the DSP  is mostly-green with subtle white dots & dashes, used as a strip along the side of the card.  Sentiment is from A Wish For Everything stamp set.  I stamped it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White CS and die cut with Layering Circle Dies.  For the shamrock:  die cut 3 hearts (or punch, if you have the retired mini heart punch) out of Granny Green Card Stock.  You can use Sweet Hearts Dies or Give It A Whirl Dies - there are various heart sizes in those sets, too.  Adhere the hearts with a Mini Glue Dot, forming the shamrock.  Free-hand cut a stem and glue that.  Add a little bow using Simply Elegant gold trim.  A strip of gold foil paper helps the focal point "pop."  Then lastly, a bit of sparkle - I used the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  Supply list:  Go Rainbows.

CARD DETAILS:

  • Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score/fold at 4 1/4".
  • Mat layer:  Granny Apple Green CS, 5 1/4" x 4".  Adhere to card base.
  • Designer Series Paper layer:  Rainbow DSP: 5 1/8" x 3".  Green & white: 5 1/8" x 1 1/8".  Start by adhering the green-white piece to the right side of the card front (on top of the mat layer).  Then adhere the rainbow piece, and slightly overlapping the green piece.  You want to have just a small border of the Granny Apple Green mat layer showing all around the DSP pieces (approx. 1/16th).
  • Focal Piece
    • Die cut a circle with Layering Circle Dies.
    • Die cut 3 hearts from Granny Apple Green.  Adhere tips together with a Mini Glue Dot, forming a shamrock.  Adhere this shamrock to the Circle, near bottom right edge.  Cut a piece of Granny Apple Green CS for a stem; glue to the shamrock.
    • Use stamps from A Wish for Everything stamp set to stamp "St. Patrick's Day" in Memento black ink onto the Circle, next to the shamrock.
    • On a scrap piece of Basic White CS, stamp the "happy" from A Wish for Everything stamp set.  Fussy cut.  Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals to the Circle.
  • Cut a strip of Gold Foil paper, approximately 3 1/2" x 3/4".  Cut an angle on one end. Glue to card front.
  • Add the Circle focal piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Tie a small bow with Simply Elegant gold trim & adhere to the stem of the shamrock.  Mini Glue Dot works well for this.
  • Add a few jewels/rhinestones.

You have it!

Stampin' Up!© Flowering Tulips

Welcome to my blog!  If you are seeing this as an email, click the title to jump to the full blog.

The Stampin' Up!© design artists have really outdone themselves creating the beautiful floral Designer Series Papers in the current 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog and the Jan-Feb Sale-a-Bration Brochure.   I love these DSP!!

So my card today lets the DSP be the star.   There will be a link at the end of this blog post to all the supplies I used.

There is minimal stamping on this card.  Just a simple sentiment from The Flowering Rain Boots stamp set.  I die-cut the sentiment using Tasteful Labels Dies (item #152886, Annual Catalog).  For some texture on the card, and creating a basket-look,  I used the Checks Embossing Folder from Checks & Dots Embossing Folders  (item #155432 in the Annual Catalog).  After embossing a piece of Basic White CS, I colored it using the Stampin' Blending Brushes (#153611).  Add some Bumblebee Gingham ribbon to finish it off.  All the elements coordinate so beautifully together.

CARD DETAILS

Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4" .

Mat of Daffodil Yellow CS, 5 1/8" x 4".

DSP:  Flowering Fields DSP, 2 1/4" x 5".

Embossed checked piece:  Basic White CS 1 7/8" x 5".

Bumblebee Gingham ribbon, approximately 6", to wrap around the matted-DSP piece; another ribbon piece to tie the bow.

Piece of white CS for sentiment.

Steps:

  • Place the white CS into the Embossing Folder; run through the Cut & Emboss Machine. (It fits fine in the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.)
  • Using So Saffron Ink Pad and Blending Brush, add color to the checked piece you've just embossed.

  • Adhere the DSP to the Daffodil mat.
  • Adhere the checked-embossed piece to the mat.
  • Wrap a length of the ribbon around the card front, covering the seam of the DSP & embossed piece.
  • Adhere the matted image piece to the Basic White card base.
  • Sentiment:
    • On a piece of White CS, stamp sentiment from Flowering Rain Boots stamp set using Blackberry Bliss ink.
    • Die cut using die from Tasteful Labels Dies.
    • Use Sponge Daubers or piece of sponge to add some Daffodil ink around the edges.

    • Adhere sentiment using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Make a small bow with the ribbon and adhere using a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Add some embellishments - I used the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels (#155571) on the sentiment piece.

Inside:  Add a strip of the DSP to white CS (3 3/4"x 5");  adhere to inside.

There you have it.

You can use this basic layout and other selections of the beautiful floral Designer Series Papers.

I made a second card, myself, doing just that.  The DSP on this one, Daffodil Afternoon, is FREE!

On this card, I used the Daffodil Afternoon 12" x 12" DSP, a FREE package of 12 sheets, 12" x 12" double-sided DSP.   Yes, FREE - as one of the Sale-a-Bration rewards when you make a purchase of $50 (before shipping & tax fees) during the month of February.

For this card, I varied it slightly:  The mat is Granny Apple Green DSP (same dimensions as 1st card).  I used Soft Suede to color the checked piece.  I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink & I cut the sentiment with Layering Circles Dies.  Instead of a bow, I tied a small knot with the ribbon.

For the supplies I used making these cards, click HERE to see the list.  When ready to shop, you can add all to your cart right there, or just select the items you need.  The stamp set for sentiment, Flowering Rain Boots, comes in a Bundle with coordinating Rain Boots Dies.  Purchase the Bundle and save 10%.  You're going to want this Bundle!  Did you see the Valentine card in an earlier blog post where I used it?

Thank you for stopping by & taking a look.  I hope you enjoyed seeing these pretty flowers on my cards.  I'm looking forward to Spring...how about you?

Let me know if you have any questions.  I'm happy to help any way I can with your crafting projects.

Till next time, please take care.   Happy crafting!!   ~JULIE

Stampin' Up!© Ranunculus Romance

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!  If you received this in an email, click the title to jump to blog.

I love crafting and card-making!!  What's more, knowing and interacting with others who feel the same, just increases the joy and fun of creating a special card to send to someone.  I recently took part in a card challenge presented by a talented group of stampers. I created the card I'm sharing today.

The Challenge was to use the following on the card (You can now play along & make a card too!):

  • The color orange
  • Some Vellum
  • Birthday greeting
  • Ribbon or twine

For the layered background DSP, I choose a selection from the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Papers.

This pack of DSP is in the current 2022 Jan-June Mini Catalog; item #158039; or get the Suite Collection #158052

CARD DETAILS

Card base:  Basic white CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold in half at 4 1/4".

Layer of DSP -glue to the card front:  Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper, 4" x 5 1/4".  I used the water-colored looking Night of Navy selection.  It has flecks of gold foil throughout.

Square Vellum Doily - adhere one doily to the DSP card front with Mini Glue Dots, placing the glue dots where the flower pieces will cover them up.

Stamps + Dies:  Ranunculus Romance Bundle (Item #157977)

  • Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp the ranunculus image (Ranunculus Romance stamps) twice onto Basic White CS
  • Die cut flowers with the coordinating Ranunculus Dies
  • Overlap the two floral pieces and adhere to card front on top of the Vellum Doily
Sentiment:  Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Basic White CS.  I used the Happy Birthday from Flowing Flowers stamp set (Item #157880).

Simply Elegant Trim:   Make a loose "bow" with the gold trim/twine & adhere it to the back of the sentiment piece.
Adhere the sentiment + trim to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside card:  stamp the flower image again, slightly off the piece of white CS, (3 3/4" x 5").  Then glue to inside of the card.

There you have it!
