Stampin' Up!© Soar Confidently

Hello!  Welcome to another card share here on my blog.

Today's card could be used as a graduation card, a Father's Day card, or for many other celebrations.

The stamp set is Soar Confidently, and is in the current 2021 January-June Mini Catalog.  It will be "retiring" after June 30.  The set has some wonderful vintage looking "air machines," and lends itself beautifully for creating more masculine cards.

Stamp set & Border Die I used.

I also used a product found in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog:  the Basic Borders Dies.  This is a set of 6 dies that cut several types of borders - ziz-zag, curved, scalloped and others.  I used the one that cut a varied-scalloped edge resembling clouds.  I cut two and glued them, overlapping, at the bottom edge of the piece of DSP.  You can see them in the close-up, below.

How do you like the sky background?  I didn't stamp this - rather it is a selection of Designer Series Paper.  What could be easier?  The DSP is also in the new catalog - called Beauty of the Earth 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  You can purchase it separately or as part of the Beauty of the Earth Suite.

Want to shop the supplies for this card?  Click HERE.

Hostess Code for May:   YQVDTM9M

Paper measurements:

  • Card base:  Misty Moonlight card stock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layer of Basic Black CS:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Designer Series Paper (the sky):  Beauty of the Earth DSP:  4" x 5 1/4" and another piece to cut the clouds twice, using the Basic Borders Dies.

Details:

  • Die-cut the clouds twice; glue to the bottom edge of the DSP piece, overlapping the clouds.
  • Use Basic Gray ink to stamp the plane image and the sentiment directly onto the DSP.
  • Glue the black CS panel to the card base.
  • Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the image piece to the black CS panel.

Inside:

For the inside, I used a piece of Smoky Slate CS (I felt white was too stark for this card), 4" x 5 1/4".  The sentiment inside is from Inspired Thoughts stamp set, which I stamped in Basic Gray ink.  I also stamped the plane once more, but coming off the page.

There you have it.  I hope you are inspired to use this set and create a card of your own.  What do you think?

Our theme is Thank You.

My Thank You card uses the products in the Pansy Petals Suite.

The Pansy Petals Suite is fast becoming a favorite among stampers all around the globe.  Count me as one of them!  It's new this year, and can be found in the just released NEW 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

Stamp sets used:

  • Pansy Patch, Hand-Penned Petals (filler leaves), Sweet Ice Cream (filler dots).

Card Details:

  • Card base:  Basic White CS, 8 1/2" X 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Calypso Coral CS layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • DSP layer:  Pansy Petals DSP (soft succulent gingham), 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Piece of white CS for stamping:  2 3/4" x 4".
    • Using the smaller pansy stamps and Calypso Coral Ink, randomly stamp pansies all over.  For the "beard" I used Cajun Craze Ink.
    •  Filler dots are from Sweet Ice Cream set and stamped in Pale Papaya ink.
    •  Filler leaves are from Hand-penned Petals set, stamped in Soft Succulent Ink.
  • Sentiment:
    • I used a label cut-out from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit, (you could use Basic White CS 3" x 3/4"), stamped with Thank You from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Soft Succulent ink.
    • I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere all the layers to the card base.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals for the sentiment piece.
    • I added one of the new In Color Jewels (soft succulent color) to the sentiment piece.

Here's another version, showing how to "step-it-up" using some dies.

I used the same color palette (calypso coral and cajun craze for flowers, soft succulent for leaves and stamped sentiment)

The dies I used:

  • Pansy Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies.

Details:

  • Card base:  Soft Succulent CS, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layers glued on front of card base:
    • Basic White DSP:  cut using the largest die from Scalloped Contours Dies.
    • Calypso Coral CS layer:  4 3/4" x 3 7/16" (just under 3 1/2") to glue on top of the scalloped white layer.
    • DSP layer:  again, the gingham from Pansy Petals DSP, 4 5/8" x 3 5/16" (just over 3 1/4").
  • Focal design:
    • Stamp 1 large and 2 smaller pansies with Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze on to a piece of white CS; die-cut using Pansy Dies.
    • Die cut 1 large and 2 smaller leaves from Soft Succulent CS, using Pansy Dies. (The dies also emboss veins on the leaves - so pretty!)
    • Using the 2nd smallest die from Scalloped Contours Dies, cut a scalloped piece of white CS.  The pansies will be adhered to this scalloped piece.
    • Stamp sentiment with Soft Succulent ink on another piece of white CS; die cut this using small die from Stitched Rectangles Dies.
  • Assemble:
    • Using Stampin Dimensionals, adhere the pansies on top of the white scalloped die-cut piece.
    • Tuck and glue the leaves around the pansies and the sentiment piece on top of leaves.
    • Use more dimensionals to adhere to card front.
    • Add an In Color Jewel to sentiment piece.
One final version - cut the large scalloped piece from Calypso Coral CS and adhere to a white CS card base.

I hope you enjoyed the cards.  Do you have a favorite of the three I've shared, today?  I would love to hear what you think.

Stampin' Up!© Kangaroo Mother's Day

Hello!  Welcome to my blog.  Today I am sharing a whimsical mother's day card.

Also a reminder:  today is the last day for the Last Chance Products!  Shop for the items HERE.

I used Kangaroo & Company stamp set and Kangaroo Dies - available as a Bundle in the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog.  The images in this set are just so cute!

I also used Dressed to Impress stamp set for the sentiment.  This stamp set will carry over to the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, which starts tomorrow, May 4.

Dies:  Kangaroo Dies (Mini Catalog), Layering Circles Dies (carrying over to new catalog), Scalloped Contours Dies (available tomorrow in new Catalog)

I colored the images with Stampin' Blends:  soft suede, calypso coral (light), and petal pink.

I used some of the new Pale Papaya card stock as the base, and a layer of new Pansy Petals DSP - both the CS and the DSP are available starting tomorrow.  The Designer Series Paper has an abundance of Pansy floral images, but also the gingham (pale papaya) and polka dots (calypso coral with papaya) used on my card.

This card comes together pretty easily.  I stamped the kangaroos and the heart images in Early Espresso ink onto white card stock.  Then, using the Kangaroo Dies, I cut all three images out.

Using Stampin' Blends, I colored the kangaroos with light & dark soft suede; petal pink ears and cheeks; and the hearts in petal pink, shaded with light calypso coral.

The circle is die-cut from Layering Circle Dies.  The sentiment is stamped onto another piece of DSP with Espresso ink.  It is die-cut with the new Scalloped Contours Dies (available starting tomorrow).

Card base:  Pale Papaya CS, 11"x 4 1/4", fold at 5 1/2".

DSP (polka dots) from Pansy Petals DSP:  5 1/4" x 4".  Glue to card base.

Glue the sentiment piece, the circle piece, and the little kangaroo.  Slide the tip of the hearts image into the pouch of the mom kangaroo (the die cuts a slit there), and add a little glue to hold in place.  Then adhere the mom kangaroo to the circle, using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Done!  I'd love to know what you think.

Stampin' Up!© Rooted in Nature Father's Day

Welcome to my blog today!  I have a card to share with a more masculine feel to it.  Plus a couple more cards, using the same set, at the end of this blog.  So much you can do with this set!

It's a favorite stamp set of mine, and it is on the Last Chance Products list:    Rooted in Nature (item #148217) with the coordinating dies, Nature's Roots Dies (Item #151786).  The stamps in this set have to been seen to fully appreciate them.  The leaf and trees have such subtle detail.  There is also a great mix of sentiments in various fonts & styles.  It's a 2-set stamp set, with a total of 16 stamps in all. The dies not only cut out the trees & leaves, but some of the dies emboss the leaves for more added texture.

Check availability & shop HERE.  Products on the Last Chance Products list are only "while supplies last."  And after May 3 the sale ends.

New HOST CODE for MAY:   YQVDTM9M

I used an additional stamp set, because I wanted this to be a Father's Day Card.  Inside the card I used a sentiment from another set, Best Year (item #152568).  Another versatile set to have in your collection.  This set will still be available in the new Catalog (going "live" on May 4).

On the card front, I used some wood-grain Designer Series Paper that was in a past catalog, but there are some great selections in the In Good Taste DSP (also retiring soon) Item #152494, that would work equally well.

Paper measurements:

  • Card base:  Early Espresso CS, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", fold at 4 1/4".
  • Layer 1:  wood-grained DSP (with a whit-wash look), 5" x 3 3/4".
  • Layer 2:  darker wood-grained DSP, 5 1/2" x 2 1/2:.

Glue the layers to the card base.

Leaves:

  • Stamp and die cut the leaves.  I used Old Olive ink stamped onto white card stock.  I colored in the leaves using Stampin' Blends:  old olive (smaller leaves) and soft suede (larger leaves.

Sentiment:

  • Stamp the sentiment onto white CS using Espresso ink.  Die-cut using Stitched Rectangles (approx. size is 2 3/4" x 1 3/8" if you don't have the dies).  Glue to the card front.

Using Stampin' Dimensionals, add the leaves around and overlapping the sentiment piece.

Inside:

  • The sentiment for the inside is in the Best Year Stamp Set, stamped with Espresso ink onto white CS that I die-cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies (approx.4 3/8" x 3").  Stamp the trio of leaves in old olive.

That is all there is to it!

************************************************************

I couldn't stop with just one card.  As promised at the top of the blog, I want to share 2 more, using the Rooted in Nature stamp set, to show the versatility of this set, and how you can create completely different looks.
The DSP layer I used on this card is Forever Greenery (5 1/4" x 4") on white card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded at 4 1/4").  The tree is stamped in Garden Green ink onto white CS.  This is die-cut with Stitched Rectangles (approx.4" x 2 6/8").  The sentiment is fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

and...one more:

The details:
  • The card base is Bermuda Bay CS, 11"x 4 1/4", fold at 5 1/2".  I used some ombre CS layer (4" x 5 3/8"), but you could create your own with the Blending Brushes & Bermuda Bay ink.  I stamped 2 trees with Basic Gray ink, stamped off once, to give the light-colored background trees.  Then, on another piece of ombre CS, I stamped the tree with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, full strength, and die-cut with the Nature's Root Dies.
  • To create the slope out of Bermuda Bay CS, I used a curve die that will be in a new set coming May 4 - it's called Inspiring Canopy Dies.   After gluing this slope to the card front, I added the darkest tree (die-cut tree) with dimensionals.
  • Sentiment:  stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto white, die cut with stitched rectangles, adhered w/ dimensionals.

************************************************************

I hope you found some inspiration here, today.  Let me know if you have any questions; I'd be happy to help in any way I can with your paper crafting projects.

Remember to check out the Last Chance Products HERE.
