Stampin' Up!® Countdown To Christmas Kit

 Hi there!

Did you have a good Thanksgiving?  I sure did, and what's more, I found time do some crafting over the weekend!  Take a look at the Countdown To Christmas project that I completed.  It's one of Stampin' Up!'s kits, and can be found in the August-December Mini Catalog.  You can put candies or small trinkets or other gifts into each mini box.  The individual boxes measure 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" x 2 1/16".   Or to give you another idea:  2 Ghirardelli Chocolate squares fit just fine (placed diagonally) into the mini box.

The kit provides all the die cuts and stickers and numbers to complete the project.  But of course you can decorate the boxes any way your imagination takes you.  On mine, I added cat images to some of the boxes, that I fussy cut out of the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper.

Playful Pets DSP - Item 152489, or part of the Playful Pets Suite Collection - 154136

When Christmas is over, you can pull out each mini box, turn them around, and decorate the other side in a non-Christmas way. (My sister suggested decorating for Easter. I like that idea!)  That way you can use this project for another occasion.  How great is that!  Because you will not want to put it away after you see how cute it decorates.

To order the kit, click HERE

Well, with Thanksgiving behind us, I'm really looking forward to firming up ideas for my Christmas cards.  What about you?  Remember, if you need stamping supplies, order soon so as to receive them in time to make your Christmas projects.  Shop my online store by clicking SHOP.

Stop by my blog again, soon.  I'll be sharing some more stamping projects on this site.  Sign up to my blog, and you will receive my new posts right to your inbox.  See the form on the right panel.

Thanks for taking a look, today!  Keep crafting!  If I can help in any way, let me know.  If you live in the USA and are looking for a Demonstrator, I would love to be yours.

Stay safe, be well.  Take care,  Julie

What cute snowmen images in the stamp set Snowman Season!  The set, from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, will be 10% off during the one-day Merry & Bright Extravaganza sale tomorrow (Tuesday, November 24).  The sentiment for my card is found in the Arrange a Wreath stamp set, also 10% off tomorrow.  These are just 2 of the many, many items that will be on sale, ONE DAY ONLY.   Time to check your Wish List!   Products that are excluded are fewer that those included in the sale, so there is a list of excluded products only - click the image in the right side bar to see the PDF list of those.

Close-up, showing the embossed snowflakes behind the sign.

  • On white CS, randomly stamp the snowflake image on the left half using Versamark & heat emboss with the embossing powder & heat tool.
  • Stamp the snowman in black on the right side; color in with Stampin' Blends.
  • Die-cut a slope using the curve die from Home Together Dies; glue beneath the snowman, trimming to fit.
  • On a piece of woodgrained DSP from In Good Taste DSP pack, heat emboss the sentiment from Arrange a Wreath stamp set.  Glue the sign to the post, then glue to the snow slope.
  • Add snowflake embellishments, a couple to the sign and other randomly onto the card.

Stampin' Up!® Trimming the Town Snow Globe

Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites to work with.  The images in the paper set the scene, with a little stamping added, to create this card.  The star filled sky is a piece of DSP from the pack.  The little house & tree are also images on the DSP.  I fussy cut them for the snow glob scene.

This card does use quite a few dies.  Many of the products used to make this card will be 10% off one day only, November 24th.  More details are at the end of this blog.

Card details:

The Home Together Dies, part of the Trimming the Town Suite of products, was used to cut the snow slope out of Whisper White.

Other dies I used to make this card are:

  • Snow Globe Scenes Dies - to cut the DOME shape of starry sky, the SNOW GLOBE BASE in Misty Moonlight, and the FINER DETAILED overlaying the base, in whisper white
  • Poinsettia Dies - the small dies cut & emboss the flowers at the same time;  cut them & then layer 2 for each flower
  • Layering Circles Dies - to cut the opening for the globe
  • Home Together Dies - for the snow slope
The Snow Globe Shaker Domes (150442) have adhesive strips around both the front and the back of the dome.  The front adhesive is removed to adhere the Seaside Spray layer of card stock OVER the dome (dome protruding out), and the back adhesive is to adhere the globe to the card base.

Basic directions:
  • Using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies, cut a piece of the starry sky DSP with the dome shaped-die.
  • Card Base:  Misty Moonlight card stock 11" 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2"
  • Layer of Seaside Spray card stock, 4 1/8" x  5 3/8".  Cut an opening in the card stock using layering circle die just bigger than the dome.  The dome should fit, protruding through the opening
  • Scrap piece of Misty Moonlight CS - cut snow globe base using Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
  • Scrap of Whisper White CS - use the detailed die from Snow Globe Scenes Dies to cut the overlay of the snow globe base.  Glue onto the misty moonlight cut base.
Die-cut components

  • Remove the adhesive backing from the FRONT of the dome.  Lay the Seaside Spray CS over this, and adhere it to the dome.  Adhere the base piece up against the bottom of the dome.
Placement of Seaside Spray layer over front of dome; adhere base; cut slope & house, tree.

  • Fussy cut the house & tree and cut a slope of snow using curved die from Home Together Dies.  Trim it to fit onto the sky piece, tucking the house beneath and the tree on top of the slope.

Glue slope, house, & tree onto sky piece.

Trim slope piece

  • Position the sky/house/hill scene onto the Misty Moonlight card base, and estimate its position so that it will be beneath the dome.  Now it's a little tricky - without moving where you have placed the scene, remove the other adhesive from the back of the dome, and add some glue to the back of the Seaside Spray layer at the same time.  Carefully turn the piece of Seaside/dome back over & place the Seaside layer, with the dome, over the house scene and adhere it all down onto the Misty Moonlight card base.
Back of dome, adhesive strip removed; glue applied

Dome face up, glued to card base over the house/sky piece.

  • Cut and assemble the poinsettias using Poppy Parade card stock and Poinsettia Dies.  The centers can be either a small flower punched from So Saffron card stock (I used the Confetti Flowers Border Punch), or Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes or other small embellishment (pearl, rhinestone, etc).
  •  Adhere the flowers to the card base. Stamp sentiment from Snowman Season stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink onto white CS and cut with Stitched Rectangles.  Glue to card base.

Layered poinsettia petals; punch centers or use embellishment.

Stampin' Up!® Gift Wrapped

Who loves a surprise package topped off with a big, beautiful bow?

There are a lot of components to this card, but not to worry.  It's really fun to make.  Would you like the details?

Here are the products and measurements:

  • Stamp sets:  Gift Wrapped, Sweetest Time, Festive Corners
  • Punch & Dies:  Gift Bow Builder Punch, Beautiful Boughs Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Designer Paper:  Heart Warming Hugs DSP, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the gift; 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the striped ribbon; another striped piece to punch the bow.
  • Card Stock:
    •  Real Red card base (4 1/4" x 11", folded at 5 1/2")
    • Whisper White layer (5 3/8" x 4 1/8"), pieces of white for the two sentiments, the top bow, and the mini tag
    • Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow for the pine boughs (die cut)
  • Ink:  Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad, Real Red Stampin' Blends, Mossy Meadow Stampin' Pad.
  • Red Rhinestones Basic Jewels

Directions:
  • Stamp the bow image in real red onto white cardstock; punch out using the Gift Bow Builder Punch; color in the stripes using Stampin' Blends.  Punch a 2nd bow from the red striped DSP from the Heart Warming Hugs DSP.  Glue the bows together, slightly off-set with the colored-in bow on top.
  • Glue the DSP "ribbon" strip (1/2" x 3 1/2") down the center of  the DSP gift (2 1/2" x 3 1/2").  Attach the bow to the top of the gift using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the mini tag from the Gift Wrapped stamp set in red, and the little holly from the same set in mossy meadow onto the tag; punch out the tag using the Gift Bow Builder Punch
  • Stamp the MERRY from the Festive Corners stamp set and the CHRISTMAS from the Sweetest Time stamp set, both with red ink onto white CS.  Die cut the sentiments using Stitched Rectangles Dies.
  • Die cut some boughs using the Beautiful Boughs Dies from Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow CS.
Here are all the components:

Assemble:

Glue the Whisper White layer (5 3/8" x 4 1/8") to the Real Red card Base.  To this layer glue the sentiments and the pine boughs. Now adhere the gift, that you've already decorated with the ribbon, bows, and tag; I used the Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the gift up off the card front.

How do you like it?  Let me know what you think.

Just imagine making this with any DSP you have, and coordinating the bow to the DSP.  Such possibilities!   Although they are featured in the Aug-Dec Mini Catalog, the stamp set & punch can certainly be used for any gift-giving occasion!
The Gift Wrapped stamp set and Gift Bow Builder Punch are available as a Bundle (155155), saving you 10%.
I hope you found some inspiration from this card.

Stampin' Up!® Trimming the Town Window Card

I have such fun creating cards with the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper!  The winter scenes lend themselves to so many applications.   Take a peak at this one!

The window was made using Best Plaid Builder Dies and Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Use both to cut out the window frame and the muntins (the grid or cross pieces in the window) in Whisper White card stock.  Two sizes of stitched rectangles are used for the frame, the largest and the 3rd from largest. Glue the grid piece behind the frame.  Trim the protruding grid pieces, after glueing, to be entirely behind the frame

Cut a piece of the Trimming the Town DSP 5 1/8" x 3 3/4" that will fit behind the window.  First, glue the DSP to a card base:  Misty Moonlight card stock cut 4 1/4" x 11", folded at 5 1/2".  Next, using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the window frame over the DSP.

The sentiment is from Poinsettia Petals stamp set; stamp it in Poppy Parade ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS; cut one end as a flag.  Glue to the window frame.  Add a Poppy Parade embellishment from the All the Trimmings Embelishments.

Inside card:

Inside:  Whisper White CS cut 5" x 3 3/4"; stamp Merry Christmas from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set using Poppy Parade ink.

To make a coordinating envelope (and why not?! such cute houses!), I used the Envelopes Dies and another piece of the Trimming the Town DSP.

Do you like how this turned out?   Want to shop the supplies?  Click HERE.

Stampin' Supplies used in the card:

  • Trimming the Town DSP,  153491

Stampin' Up!® Curvy Christmas

This serene, snowy scene, in less traditional Christmas colors, is fun and easy to create.  Here is how I did it.

I started with a piece of the beautiful Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut 6" x 4 1/4".  Then I used the Curvy Dies and cut the DSP into 2 sections.  Place the die under the trees in the image.  Separate the 2 cut pieces to allow a sentiment from the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set to fit between the two.  Trim the bottom piece so that both pieces of DSP will fit onto card base.  (Card base is 11" x 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2").

Emboss both pieces of the DSP with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.   Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4 1/4" x approximately 2"; stamp sentiment and a few snow flake images from Curvy Christmas stamp set, using Balmy Blue ink onto this white piece, fitting into the curve of the DSP.  Glue the white card stock piece beneath the DSP.  Then glue it all onto the Blushing Bride card base.  There you have it!

Supplies and measurements:

  • Card base:  Blushing Bride card stock, 11" x 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2"
  • DSP:  Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, 4 1/4" x 6" (trimmed after Curvy die cutting)
  • Stamp Set:  Curvy Christmas
  • Ink:  Balmy Blue
  • Other:  Curvy Dies, Winter Snow Embossing Folder, Liquid Multipurpose Glue

I hope you are inspired to try a card of your own.  To shop the items used, click HERE.

Stampin' Up!® Feels Like Frost In the Pines

How about this snowy scene?  Do you love it?  It's from Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This is a pack of gorgeous Specialty DSP in the current August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  It was so popular last year that it made a return in this year's Mini Catalog.  So glad!  When you see it, you can understand why.  Double sided 6" x 6" DSP, with soft, wintry photographic scenes on one side, and silver metallic graphics on the reverse.

I chose one of the scenes as the background for my card, and layered it onto Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray card stock.  The sentiment was added from Festive Corners Stamp Set, stamped in Peacock ink.

 Supplies and measurements:

  • Card Base:  Seaside Spray card stock, 11" x 4 1/4", folded at 5 1/2"
  • Layer:  Pretty Peacock card stock, 5" x 3 3/4"
  • DSP:  Feels Like Frost, 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
  • Stamp sets:  Festive Corners, In the Pines
  • Dies:  Pine Woods Dies
  • Other:  twine (misty moonlight/white/silver) from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, Stampin' Dimensionals, Liquid Multi-purpose Glue.
I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, directly onto the DSP.  I stamped the tree image in Peacock onto a piece of Seaside Spray card stock then die cut it with Pine Woods Dies.  I die-cut the 2nd tree from the DSP, but the flip side that has the shiny silver in it.  I glued the 2 trees together, slightly overlapping, giving a subtle, silvery "shadow."  I attached the pair of glued trees to the DSP scene, using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Then I glued the DSP piece to the Pretty Peacock layer of card stock.  I wrapped some of the twine around twice and tied a small bow.  Then I glued all of this to the Seaside card base.

I would love to hear what you think!  Have you used DSP in this way, stamping directly onto it?  It works especially well with scenes like the ones found in this Feels Like Frost DSP pack.

November 2020 Blog Hop - Demonstrator Training Support Program

Hi, and welcome to this month's blog hop!

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators Monthly Team Blog Hop!  We are so happy that you could join us today for ideas and creative inspiration.

We are a group of Stampin' Up! ®  Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin' Up!® business and reach some goals we have set.  We really appreciate your support.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog - either way, you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

For today's blog hop, I have created a "thank you" card made with images of roses from Beautiful Friendship stamp set and leaves from Beautiful Autumn stamp set.

Card base:  Gray Granite card stock, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded at 4 1/4"

Layer of Pumpkin Pie card stock, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".

Whisper white card stock:  5 1/8" x 3" - stamped with roses & leaves; 5 1/8" x 7/8" - stamped "thank you".

Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Gray Granite.

Embellishments:  Sequins for Everything

Steps to create the card:   Start by randomly stamping the rose image from Beautiful Friendship stamp set using Pumpkin Pie ink stamped onto whisper white CS.  Stamp some of the images off the page.  Next stamp the leaves from Beautiful Autumn stamp set in Gray Granite ink.  There are 3 different leaf images - first I stamped the solid leaf images, then I stamped over the solid using the detail veined leaf images.  Gray Granite for both the solid and the veins.  Stamp the sentiment, also from the Beautiful Autumn set, in Gray Granite.  Adhere the stamped pieces to the Pumpkin CS, then adhere to the Gray Granite card base.  I used Liquid Multi-purpose glue to do this.  Add 3 sequin embellishments on the thank-you panel, and all done!

What do you think?  I'd love to hear your comments.

Thanks so much for hopping by!  As mentioned at the beginning, this is a group blog hop from around the world.  Click the links below to visit all the creative projects.  Enjoy!

Stampin' Up!® Coming Home

This month I'm celebrating the anniversary of when I bought my home!  This card was such fun to make.  For those of you who know me, you know that I also love to tole paint.  The design on this card is similar to something I would have painted on a wood plaque.

Here's what I did, and products I used, to make this card.  Product item numbers are linked to my online store if you'd like to shop!

I used a piece of Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (153527) for the background.  I embossed it with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder (152702) and then trimmed it to 5 1/4" x 4".  I adhered it to Very Vanilla card stock cut to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8", and adhered that to the Merry Merlot card base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded at 4 1/4".

The stamp sets used are:  Coming Home (153500), Celebration Tidings (153456).

On another piece of vanilla CS I stamped the image of the little house.  To stamp the scroll/heart image, under the house, I used the Stamparatus (146276) to ensure exact placement.

Using Stamparatus TIP:  I used the Stamparatus when stamping the scroll/heart image under the house in order to get the scroll and the heart stamped in 2 different colors.  I positioned the stamp where I wanted it on the paper, inked it in Espresso ink, then carefully wiped off ink from just the heart.  I stamped the scroll image,  then lifted it off the paper, but kept it in place on the Stamparatus;  I cleaned off the espresso ink.  Then, to stamp the heart only, I used a Stampin' Write marker in Cherry Cobbler and colored in the heart on the stamp.  Now I stamped it down onto the paper.  By placing the stamp on the Stamparatus, I was assured exact placement of the image where I wanted it, and I could stamp parts of the image in different colors.

Another way to get a similar look, use the small heart stamp that's in the set, separately, instead of coloring in the heart on the scroll stamp.

Next, to add texture, I embossed this with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (151775). Then I cut it out with Tasteful Labels Dies (152886).

I colored in the house using Stampin' Blends, Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler.   Then I adhered it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added a few embellishments to finish it off.

Inside I glued a piece of the same plaid DSP 3/4" x 4 1/2" to a piece of vanilla card stock, 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".  I stamped the sentiment from Country Home Stamp Set (147678), and glued this all to the inside of the card.
