Witty-cisms

Don't miss the chance to get this stamp set with cute images - Witty-cisms!  In the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog.   ONLY AVAILABLE until JUNE 2, 2020   Item 151686

Also to be discontinued on June 2:  the 2018-2020 In Colors card stock, ink pads, and any coordinating ribbons or other embellishments.  The colors are:
Lovely Lipstick (which I used for this card), Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel.  If these are favorites of yours, place an order soon to be sure & get just what you want.

Now let's make a card!
From the set I've chosen the Thank You Berry Much strawberry image.   I've also used the Jar of Flowers stamp set & coordinating punch, from the NEW 2020-201- Annual Catalog coming June 3.

One of my favorite In-Colors - Lovely Lipstick - is featured here, the solid cardstock (146970), Stampin' Blends (combo pack 147281), and the 6"x 6" gingham DSP (149618).   Strawberries, jars, and gingham checks just seem meant for each other!   Doesn't it bring to mind summertime?

Description & measurements:
  • Stampin' Ink Pads:  Lovely Lipstick (147140) and Gray Granite (147118)
  • Card Base:  Whisper white card stock, 11" x 4 1/4" folded at 5 1/2" (landscape fold)
  • Layer of DSP, checked Lovely Lipstick from the 6" x 6" pack - cut 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Lovely Lipstick card stock, 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".    Glue the checked DSP onto this solid Lipstick panel.
  • Strip of whisper white, 5" x 2 1/2".   Onto this, stamp the jar image in Gray Granite ink, having jars at both ends stamp off the end.
  • Stamp jar image again on another separate piece of white, then punch out the image.  You can also stamp the jar lid image, using Lovely Lipstick.
  • Stamp the strawberry image 4 times on white CS in Gray Granite.   Color the berries in using Stampin' Blends Lovely Lipstick light & dark, and Granny Apple Green.   Cut out the berries.
  • Stamp again, the strawberry image, using Lovely Lipstick ink onto a piece of white CS.  Cut off the "Berry Much" and trim the remainder down to a small squarish shape.

Assemble:
  • Glue with Multi-purpose liquid glue (110755), the checked DSP to the solid Lipstick CS.
  • Glue the strip of stamped jars to the top of this.  Glue the cut out strawberries "into" the jar.
  • Glue the single jar full of berries onto the card front, at a slight tilt.
  • Glue the "Berry Much" greeting on top of the jar full of berries.
  • Adhere a colored-in berry onto the "Thank You" portion, using Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
  • Adhere the Thank You to card front with more Stampin' Dimensional.
  • Glue all the panel to the card base.

This Witty-cisms stamp set can be mixed with many other sets to create fun, special cards for many occasions.   Or use the images in this set on their own with equal impact.  I hope you'll find something inspiring in this blog, and that you will keep on stampin'!

Tropical Oasis - for that "island" state of mind!

Feeling tropical today, wishing I could hop on a plane and take off for the sunny, tropical, Islands and dig my toes in some warm sand, take a dip in the azure ocean...ahh......but of course it's difficult at this time of sheltering at home.  Next best thing?  Immerse myself in cards full of tropical oasis.

The Tropical Oasis Suite of products (item 153941) in the 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalog has just the products I need to do this.  Yea!!

I decided to pull out the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack (151255) to do my creating, and paired that product with the wonderful Scalloped Note Cards & Envelopes product (149610) from the main Catalog.  So easy to put it all together - I have the scalloped card bases, and the assorted memory card pack.   A little adhesive, and I'm good to go.

Let me know what you think.  Do you have a favorite?

The tropical products from the Mini are available just until June 2.  Take a look, soon.

Roses for Mother's Day

I made this card in memory of my mother.
She had beautiful roses of all types & colors in her garden.  We would pick them often, and make full & beautiful bouquets to enjoy in vases throughout her house.   Just thinking of her, and missing her at this time more than ever.

Wishing all you moms a very Happy & Healthy & Safe Mother's Day!!!

Tea Together set for roses & sentiment.

All the items below can be ordered through my online store.

May Host Code:  J67PP2GB

Card base:  white 11" x 4 1/4", fold at 5 1/2"   (#100730)
Layer:  Pineapple Punch, 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"    (146971)
Stamped piece:  white 5 1/4" x 4"
Vellum piece for the jar image.  Vellum item #101856
Stamp set for the roses & greeting:  Tea Together (item #148779) - on the Last Chance list, available through June 2, while supplies last.
The little heart-and-leaves image is from Heart to Heart (151427).

The mason jar image is from an old set, BUT here is the good news!!
Coming June 3, the 2020-2021 New Annual Catalog has a jar stamp + punch bundle!  The bundle is also part of a larger Suite of products, including lots of flower images.  What's more, there is a jar-shaped dome that coordinates with the punch, so that you can make shaker cards. Exciting, right?! It is one of my favorite sets in the new catalog.  If you are a fan of this type of card (and, by the way, the jar can hold lots of images, not just flowers!), you will LOVE the products coming June 3.

On this card, I stamped the mason jar in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on whisper white card stock, and also stamped it on vellum paper.  The vellum jar was die-cut with coordinating dies, also from the past.  The new punch coming in June will give you the opportunity to make this same type of image.

I stamped the roses next, also in Memento black ink. I used the masking technique to get the full, layered look. Then I used Stampin' Blends to color them.  The colors I used are:
  • Rococo Rose
  • Pineapple Punch
  • Calypso Coral
  • Granny Apple Green
Pineapple punch, a beautiful yellow, will be discontinued June 2, so if you love this shade of yellow as much as I do, order the papers, inks, blends, ribbons and any associated embellishments before they are gone.

I stamped the greeting in Calypso Coral onto whisper white, with the heart also in Calypso, and leaves in olive green. (Use the Stampin' Write colored markers to first color the stamp, calypso for heart, olive green for leaves;  then stamp onto whisper white CS.)  This was die-cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (151690).   Adhere label onto vellum jar, and onto card front using Stampin' Dimensionals (keeping the dimensionals behind the label, so you can't see them through the vellum).

Adhere the card front to a piece of Pineapple Punch CS.  Using a coordinating ribbon, wrap a piece around and adhere ends behind the Pineapple Punch.  Then adhere all to the card base.

The rose image in this set is perfect for filling this mason jar vase.  Don't you agree?  I love how this came out today, and I hope you do too!  Let me know what you think.  And send me any questions you have, and I'll be happy to help you with your creative projects in any way I can.

Stay safe, stay well, take care.  Julie  ❤
Happy Mother's Day!

Loving thoughts of my mom.
