Heartfelt for Special Someone

I am posting two cards today, perfect for Valentine's Day, or any day, really, that you want to send a note to a Special Someone.  All stamps, dies, punches and DSP are from the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog. Click on the link at the right-hand side of my blog to view the Catalog.   REMEMBER, too, it's SALE-A-BRATION time!!  Choose FREE products from the SAB Catalog, also link on side of my blog, with each $50 purchase.   I would love for you to Shop with me.   Click any link in the blog to view products used here.  Don't forget to use this month's Hostess Code, to get a thank-you gift from me.  See the Hostess code to the right of the blog.

For this first card with the adorable racoon, I used the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper (151189) as the card base, 11" x 4 1/4" folded in half.  When using DSP as card base, it's a good idea to add basic CS to the inside to give the card a bit more strength; I used a piece of whisper white CS inside.

Front of card: Whisper White CS is cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (151690). Love these stitched dies!!    Using the Stamparatus I stamped the racoon base in Gray Granite and the detailed racoon stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento. See the two steps, and final in this photo.

The balloon is also a two-step stamp, the base in Grapefruit Grove and the top lined-stamp in Lovely Lipstick. Fussy cut - but dies coordinating with this stamp set are coming Feb.4!  Adhere balloon string through racoon's paws. The sentiment is from Heartfelt set, stamped in Flirty Flamingo (or Real Red works, too).  I thought the racoon came out so cute. Actually, the picture doesn't do it justice.  See it in person!

The second card base is Flirty Flamingo CS 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored/folded at 41/4". Whisper White CS layer 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
From the Heartfelt Stamp Set (151417), stamp the cross-hatched heart in Real Red ink onto Whisper White; punch out using the scallop punch that comes in a two-punch set.  The stamp set and two punches are available as a Bundle (1537750), and you save 10%!  Stamp the smaller scalloped heart in Flirty Flamingo, fussy cut, and adhere with Stampin' Dimensional to the larger punched-out heart.  These 2 hearts are mounted onto a "swirly" die cut from Real Red CS using the Painted Label Dies (151605) or in Bundle with Painted Poppies Stamp Set (153827).  I love this swirly die, don't you?  It has multiple possibilities to use in cards, backing any number of stamps, labels, sentiments....you can just imagine!

Cut the swirly again in Flirty Flamingo.   Punch a heart from the From My Heart Specialty DSP (151189), then punch a scalloped heart in Real Read, and layer the two. Then adhere to the swirly.  Overlap & adhere the two heart-swirl components to card.  Stamp the arrows and little hearts (Heartfelt stamp set) in Flirty Flamingo; stamp the sentiment in Real Red or Lovely Lipstick.  I also used a couple of the From My Heart Faceted Gems (151154) in the little hearts.   The Faceted Gems, and MUCH MORE, are also available if you purchase the From My Heart Suite (153931), on pp.8-9 of the Jan-June Catalog.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these cards, and you are inspired to try some yourself.  Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear your comments.  Shop with me soon, to take advantage of this great Sale-A-Bration time, now through March 31, 2020.   So happy you stopped by.  Take care,  Julie.

Parisian Beauty

Bon jour!
Ah, Paris...in springtime...or ANYTIME!  It brings to mind images of elegance, fashion, and of course, the Eiffel Tower.

This card was made with new products from the Stampin' Up! January-June Mini Catalog, and the Beautiful You stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  Paper piecing is the technique for the dress and hat.

Pool Party cardstock is the card base, layered with Petal Pink, and then Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The blossom was cut from additional papers in the same set.

The Bundle of the Parisian Beauty includes stamps + Parisian dies and saves you 10%.

Want more?  The Parisian Blossoms Suite includes this Bundle + the papers + Forever Blossoms Stamps + Cherry Blossoms Dies + Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder + rhinestone jewels + Ribbon.

In Celebration of the Honey Bee

The novel Queen Bee by Dorothea Benton Frank is a wonderful book I just finished.  Have you read it?  Not only is it a heart-warming story about love and acceptance, but it's so informative about the importance of the honey bee.  Each time you bite into a juicy piece of fruit, enjoy a handful of almonds or other tree nuts, or drizzle some luscious honey over your yogurt or fresh-baked biscuits, thank a bee - the pollinators that make these foods, and many, many others, possible.

So timely, for me, is the Stampin' Up stamp set Honey Bee and the Detailed Bee Dies - available individually, or as a bundle.  Plus, the coordinating Specialty Designer Series Paper is free as a Sale-A-Bration item, with a $50 purchase of other products from any current SU catalogs.
I started today, to make some cards with this sweet stamp set.  One sample is here - a quick and easy card.

Products for making this card:
153792 Honey Bee Bundle (stamp set + bee dies)
151527  Honey Bee stamp set
151526  Detailed Bee dies

132708  Memento tuxedo black ink pad

Happy New Year!!
Time to celebrate...celebrate new beginnings.  May the coming year be full of possibilities...and fun!!  Kick up your heals...and dance!

The technique used on this card is paper piecing.  Stamp your image on Whisper White Cardstock.  Stamp image again on the DSP; in this case I used Come To Gather Designer Paper from the 2019 Holiday Catalog.  But any favorite DSP will work.  Then "fussy cut" the dress from the image stamped on the DSP; adhere the cut-out to the image on the Whisper White CS.  Voila! How easy is that?  Match the background DSP to that used on the dress.  Card base here is Mint Macaron to coordinate with the DSP.

I hope you'll have fun trying this technique.  Let me know what you think.

If this has inspired you, I'd love to hear from you.  And I'd be delighted if you want to shop with me; just click the Shop Now link at the top of the page.
